Hello, I am having a problem with a totally unresponsive seller

Hello, thank you for any advice you may be able to give me here.  I purchased a set of new bathroom sink faucets 10 days ago now (on the 17th), from 'thefaucetdiscounters.canada', that is their eBay name.  I paid for thethe taps immediately, as I am renovating, and need these taps as soon as possible.  I heard nothing from the seller for days, so, I went back and looked at the ad, and then noticed their instruction (in very fine print) NOT to pay PayPal, but to wait for an email from them, and pay something called 'MarketPlace'.  As mentioned, I did not even notice these obscure instructions in the ad in the first place, and am still bewildered why they do not recognize my payment through Paypal, when it lists in their ad they accept Paypal.  And, on top of all this, I never did receive any email from them.  I have sent them several (at least 3) messages through eBay, and as well I have emailed them directly to their email address I got from Paypal, and I phoned the phone number listed in Paypal, and there is just an answering message, saying 'Karen so and so' will get back to me, no mention of the company called 'thefaucetdiscounters.canada'.  I have received no answers from any of my emails, and noone has returned my phone call.  It has been 10 days now they have had my money, and I am fuming.  Should I now open a case with Paypal???  I am in total disbelief.  Thanks for your advice.  Dallas.

Hello, I am having a problem with a totally unresponsive seller

When you need something in a hurry, mail order is not the most efficient way to go.

First ten days is not ten business days and your item could well be in the postal system for 20 calendar days before delivery,

I agree that it is annoying that they are not responding to your eBAy messages nor to your phone call.  While usually I would just put it down to a disorganized seller, given the unusual payment instructions and the lack of communication, I would file a Dispute with Paypal as "Item Not Recieved" and ask for the Delivery Confirmation number on your parcel.

Faucets should be bulky enough that Regular Parcel, which is Delivery Confirmed, was used.

If the seller does not give the Confirmation number (which you can trace through canadapost.ca) Paypal will refund your payment. However, (mail order again) there will be a delay to allow the seller to respond.

Don't leave feedback until the situation is resolved. Yoyu have up to 60 days, so stick with the Dispute process. When you do leave feedback you will also be asked to leave Detailed Seller Ratings. The normal Rating left is 5 stars. The lowest Rating is ONE. No rating is a free pass.
