Hi, In previous posts, I was told about Bulk Edit, and I want to do it today but can't figure out how. I've gone to my eBay store and selected All Active, and then selected Edit, and then got a page showing many of my listings with columns for Price and other stuff, but there is no column for Return Policy.
I can't find the instructions anywhere as to how I can change a few words in my Return Policy, and change them on all my listings all at once without having to do each of the approx 560 items individually.
Please help. Thanks.

Hi Kathy, I tried doing exactly the same thing a couple of days ago (revising my return policy on a large number of listings) through bulk editing. I finally gave up and made the changes manually, one listing at a time.
It seems that only certain variables are available in "bulk edit". I tried the customizing feature of bulk edit, but it didn't show "return policy" as an option to add to the columns. Actually, the number of variables seemed pretty small considering how many things could potentially be revised in a listing.
Wish I could help, but I'd be interested to know if anyone has an answer!

Hi Rose-dee, I hope you've been well, nice to hear from you 🙂 I hope someone has the answer also, because to do it individually takes many days. Thanks.

Once you are there, select the listings that you are changing...if you want to change them all click on the box to the left of title sot hat there is a check to each of them.
Above that there is an Edit button...click on the arrow there and on the right side you will see return policy...click on that and a pop up box will come up and you can make the changes from there.

Hi pjcdn, I've just tried that. I ticked two items just to try it. Everything is as you say up to Edit button, click on the arrow and on the right you will see return policy. When I click on Edit, I get a drop down list saying Edit One, Edit 1 to 500 and Edit 500 to 558. When I click on Edit, I don't see any pop-up box, I was taken to the two individual listings to make the changes just as I would the normal way. Along the top when I see the Edit button, I don't see anything referring to Return. I have a screen shot but I don't know if I can paste it here.
Did I do something wrong? Thanks. Kathy
I guess I can't paste anything in here, so here is what it says once I get to my Active Listings, from left to right:
Edit with an arrow Automation rules with an arrow Action with an arrow
Below that is a heading bar with these headings
Empty tick box
Picture
Title
Product
Custom Label
Format
Current Price
# Of Watchers
# of Bidders
# of Questions
Time Left
Actions - This actions column shows Send to Online with an arrow. When I click on the arrow I get these choices
Send to Online Auction
Sell Similar
Revise
Add to Description
End Item
When I clicked on Revise I was taken to the individual listings, not to any bulk edit function (at least not that I can see).

Ah, OK, I just found it somehow. The page entitled Edit Listings (500 listings). Is there any way I can tick all the boxes at the same time instead of having to tick individually. I clicked on Submit All, but I don't think it is doing that. (It is still in the process of Submitting All, so I don't know what Submit All means).

In your first post it sounded like you were on the bulk edit page but in the post above you were not in bulk edit so that's why you didn't see return policy option.
To start
go to active listings
Beside each item is a box that you can check off. If you want to edit all of the listings on that page then click the box at the very top, it will be above the top listing in the column. Then click on edit.....edit selected
OR
you can also click on edit and then click on one of the choices. So if you want to edit the first 500 listings than click on that choice
That will take you into bulk edit section.
Once you are there, select the listings that you are changing...if you want to change them all click on the box to the left of title so that there is a check to each of them.
Above that there is an Edit button...click on the arrow there and on the right side you will see return policy...click on that and a pop up box will come up and you can make the changes from there. Then save the changes. Once you have done all the editing that you want to click on submit all.

Hi there, Thanks for your reply. I had discovered this late last night and it worked perfectly. I was too tired to send you another message saying so. Thanks so much for your help. I hope rose-dee sees this because she was asking also. Thanks a lot for taking the time to reply twice, with detailed instructions. I have kept a copy in case I forget how to do it in future. 🙂 Kathy

Hi,
I forgot to mention:... For the first batch of bulk edits I did yesterday, eBay charged me 80 cents and for the second batch they charged me $1.40.
Am I supposed to pay a fee to edit my own listings?

Go to My eBay -> Account -> Fees and find out what specifically was charged.
It should be free to bulk edit existing active listings. Assuming you only charged a Return Policy and nothing else.
I recall reading recently (2 months or so) in these forums where bulk edit has a glitch and sometimes charges fees for random listings in the listings you bulk edit. But this was for relisting UnSold listings when there was a Free promotion. Maybe someone else can recall this issue.

Were you getting "free" subtitles in your original listings? If so, perhaps that promo is over and you are being charged?
Or, as already mentioned..........a glitch?

That will take you into bulk edit section.

I also found this, going through the route noted above (not sure why I couldn't see "returns" the first time, as I was on some sort of screen with bulk editing -- other variables were available, but not "returns").
However, this probably wouldn't have helped in my situation, because I needed to change more than choosing between "returns" or "no returns" which is the choice shown (toggle on/off) in the pop-up box.
It looked as if you could edit listings individually from within the pop-up box, but that probably wouldn't have been any faster for me than working from the Items for Sale page one by one, since I needed to check and revise the text of almost every listing. Some things just have to be done the old-fashioned way I suppose...:-)
