How can I send a Invoice and asked for CDN funds

Hi,

I'm looking for help on how to send invoices for CDN funds when the item is listed in USD. With the terrible Canadian dollar and most of my customers being American I would lose money listing everything in CA funds. So 90% of the listings are USD currently!!

I added a note explaining the situation and saying if a fellow Canadian wants my items they can pay CA funds, I'm just not sure how I can send my CDN invoices.

looking for help from other members pleaseSmiley Happy

Thank you

I checked some of your recent listings and I found some in Cdn$ and some in US$.

The invoicing system through eBay can only be done in the currency of the listing.

If a listing is in US$, the invoice will be sent by eBay to the buyer in US$.

Some sellers - and I understand it is what you want to do - let their Canadian buyers know that they could pay in Cdn$ equivalent if they wish.

Once the buyer has agreed to be invoiced in a currency different from the listing, you can send a PayPal invoice to the buyer for the equivalent Canadian dollar amount.

Once the buyer has paid, you will need to manually adjust the payment information on eBay.

????

Not really.  You can list at US$100.00 or Cdn$ 140.00 (for example).  At the end of the day you would get approximately the same amount in your bank account.

If you list in US funds you will pay more in fees unless you also have a bank account in the USA in US funds.

Because when you transfer your USD Paypal balance to your Canadian bank account (even one held in US dollars) you get into exchange and fees.

If you use your USD balance to buy in the USA this is not a problem.

If you are selling a lot in US funds (in excess of about $30,000 a year or so) it may be worthwhile looking into an RBCBank account*. Funds from the RBCBank (a US bank owned by the Royal Bank) can be transferred to your Royal Bank USD account without high fees.

Otherwise, If your customer is looking at an eBayCANADA listing which is priced in CDN on eBaydotCOM, the buyer sees both currencies. The listing currency and the site currency.

Look at any of your listings on eBay.co.uk (the British site) to see what I mean. Your listings will show in pounds sterlng as well as dollars.

OTOH, some Americans are panicked by .... well, pretty well anything, including two different currencies with the same name on one listing.

I pander to those customers and mostly list in US dollars.

*TDNorth is an American bank owned by TDCanadaTrust. Another choice.

Thanks guysSmiley Happy

Would you have a step by step guide, I just bought a few items and only have the Paypal option or credit card was available. I didn't see anywhere being the buyer to wait for a invoice.

also about running a store, my Fee's are crazy again, I spent $200.00 last month and it's already $160.00 today Jan 29th 2016. If I open a store do I lose my (personal) username forever?

after we sell everything I want my old username again but wasn't sure on the answer.

Is the cost savings that great, I looked under fee's and I pay 9%+listing fee's etc. I already pay 10% because of the sporting good items

thank you.

It is up to the seller if they are willing to let you pay in Canadian dollars so you would have to send them a message to ask if they would you send you a paypal invoice in Canadian currency. But you should have asked before you made the purchase because some sellers may not be willing to do that or know how to do it.

Is the purchase for a large amount? The seller will still charge you at the current exchange rate so all you may save is the 2.5% Paypal currency exchange fee.

Your username does not change when you open a store. Your username can be different than your store name.

The cost savings is different for everyone. Some people open a store because they get to list more free items with a store but some prefer to wait for listing promos. There's no definitive answer.

Watch for and use the Free Listings.

You do have enough items for a Store. Usually we advise having 50 or more unique listings before opening.

You should have sizes in your titles.

There are four broken links (images?) on your listings.

The price of your helmets plus shipping is higher than the retail price you mention.  I suggest you drop the retail price.

Brand new is not a Searched keyword. New in Box (NIB) or New with Tags (NWT) are.

Look at your listings on a mobile device. About half of all shopping here is done on phones.

Thanks but I'm happy with my listings, also the reason the images don't work is because Photobucket currently is down. The only listing I have issues with is the bindings. It doesn't allow options for sizes but under snowboard bindings but boots are okay.

About my store it says I have 54 listings, the pricing you see is USA based sellers we Pay high prices for Snowboarding gear and almost everything is being sold at cost.

You can put sizes in your titles-- people do Search titles. Those are your best advertising.

And you can put exact measurements in Description. That text can say almost anything you want.
