How come my payments go through as an 'echeck' instead of an 'instant payment' when I have a confirmed account with my debit card linked?

I have had my account confirmed for a long time and it's always been linked to my debit card. I'd like my payments to go through instantly, not by echeck. Is this possible?

lol ok.. Our Interac debit cards cannot be added to PayPal.  Aside from credit cards , i carry 2 bank debit cards . One Visa and the other Mastercard. Both can be added to PP and have an expiration date.

I'm confused lol. What is your card and is it still on your profile.

Can't have instant payment with a bank account only linked.

Thanks for your help! I guess I'll have to wait until I finally break down and get a stupid credit card before I'll be able to do it. I've been avoiding it like the plague but, I guess you can only do that for so long. lol

A credit card is best because most have chargeback rights , an extra layer of protection.

However , the instant payment can be achieved by adding the Visa/Mastercard debit cards from most of our major banks. BNS is the exception ( if i recall correctly)

A debit card is a sort of instant cheque- the payment cannot exceed the amount in your bank account.

A credit card is the amount of debt your bank will trust you with. Up to your credit limit, you can spend much more money than you actually have in hand.

Debit card money ALWAYS comes from your bank account. Even when you are buying groceries or shoes in a B&M shop.
