How do I get my FVF back from eBay on item trashed by Post Office

I posted earlier about getting a parcel back from Canada Post totally trashed by them (jammed in a machine & article inside also damaged). It was shipped via small packet air so no insurance but am going to try to get my postage back as I paid them to deliver a parcel and they did not (will see how that goes - kind of like fighting city hall!). I send an email to the buyer (with pictures) and did a refund to them (complete with the postage which I hope to get back). I then went to cancel the sale which I think you do by opening a "resolve problem" but it said it was past the date to do this and to contact the buyer. The sale occurred on Nov. 14th & I shipped on Nov. 15th and just got back on Wed. Does anyone know how to go about getting fees back or am I trying to cancel the sale incorrectly? Have not done this in the past.

Thanks for the help and thanks to those to answered my earlier post.

You have 45 days to file a case, after that is too late.

Unfortunately, the deadline for requesting a Mutual Cancellation has timed out. You only have 45 days.

But on Monday, between 9 and 5, phone Customer Support. With any luck you will get one of the Utah customer service reps, who speak English as a first language (or at any rate, American) and may be able to help you.

With Canada Post, I have found phoning them is more useful than email or even your local Post Office. (The outlets are pretty useless since they can only refer your problem to Canada Post proper.) The phone clerks are in New Brunswick and are therefore very helpful.
