How do I make a saved search for my stolen bicycle?

I signed up for an eBay account to create a saved search on the make and model of my bike (example: Cannondale, Six) which will provide me with automatic daily emails for any new bikes posted that match my make/model (Cannondale, Six). That way I can keep an eye on eBay. If I see my bike on eBay, report this to the police.

Make the police report and give the report number to your household insurance company as part of the claim.

Unless you have proof that you actually owned the bike (eg: a photo of you with it, your SIN engraved on the body) the police are unlikely to be able to help you. I’ve been through this recently.

Since eBay is a worldwide site, and one that charges for listings, you would be better to keep an eye on the local Craigslist and Kijiji listings, which are free.

However, just type in the words in the Search textbox. When similar items come up, near the top on the right hand side will be the number of results, followed by a Save Search link. Click and save.
