How does a seller remove a high bidder before the end of auction?

I have been asked to by a buyer if they can retract their bid. I have no problem with that and will do it, but how? They are the high bidder and I can't bid on it myself. I can't relist because of timing.

What can I do to asist?

Copy the listing number and have the bidder's name handy.
