The listing clearly read:

Shipping:

US $18.68 (approx. C $19.60) International Priority Shipping to Canada

Why did you buy it if you did not feel it was worth $25 or so including shipping?

the only way this program will ever be scrapped is to stave it.  right now ebay is seeing success because most are getting caught but just like you vinyltemple, this is only a one time occurance, Canadian buyers are very fast learners.

As i said, once the program is in starvation mode they will cut there financial bleeding by scrapping it.

Why would you punish the seller for something he has no control over? If you were not comfortable with the price, you should have asked the seller if he would ship outside the program. If not, I would have moved on if the total price was not worth it...

Many American sellers are unaware of what is going on it would wise to educate them on what we Canadians have to pay to the global shipping program in order to buy the item they are selling.

Also keep in mind this section from 2 i. iii of the seller terms and conditions page for the GSP:

  • If a GSP Item is delivered to your Buyer and your Buyer leaves you negative or neutral feedback associated with the GSP Item but does not file an eBay Buyer Protection claim, you may contact Customer Support to request that any negative or neutral feedback associated with that GSP Item be removed.

Have you tried the program? I love how all the people reply that have never experienced the program, Well my opinion is how the program works, not the value of the purchased item. I've been a eBayer since 2004 selling and buying I never even heard of the global shipping program until after I committed to buy! it happens all the time American sellers easily get confused with Canada as an International country and want to charge OVERSEAS SHIPPING CHARGES when America we have FREE TRADFE right next door no sea or oceans to cross!!! Why the European rates for Canada? We can buy up $300. worth of NEW stuff duty free everyday we go to the USA. eBay is horribly wrong right now and they will fix this mess but in the meantime PEOPLE will leave negative feedback and yes its unfair to the seller but they opted for the program they have to take responsibility for these bloated shipping charges!

It is not sales tax free if it comes in by post or courier. Items over $20 are taxable even if they are often not taxed.

Everywhere you look, sellers are making money on shipping instead of on the product.  This is short sighted because reasonable and fair shipping prices would generate more interest and more bids, and a higher profit in the end.  Canadian sellers are guilty of this too but the G.S.P. is going to hurt American sellers who rely on Canadian buyers because they will simply stop buying, Canadians are smart and frugal and it won't take long for the message to get out and then the program I'm sure will be scrapped.

Don't hold your breath - have you read all the postings on this and for how long it's been since the GSP has been introduced?  Only thing you can do is politely ask the seller who has GSP if he/she would consider scrapping it for you or everyone.  It worked for me one time.
