How reliable is the postal service in Indonesis? Tracked packet is unavailable.

I ship from Canada and Tracked packet isn't available to Indonesia.  I am getting many people bidding from there.  Is their postal system reliable and trustworthy?  Any one have any problems?

As long as you send to the main city in Java, Bali and some of Sumatera should be fine.

Write the phone number of the buyer on your package to speed delivery. Most of the time, receiver have to pick up their parcel to Post Office, and sometimes the postal worker do them a favor by phone them instead sending delivery note.

Most of the Indonesian are honest, and the one who shop internationally is the have and educated groups.

Your items are bulky and fragile. With sufficient packaging, and I am sure you are quite capable of that with your experience, they would tend to be heavy.

No matter how you send them, the postage is going to be high.

If the buyer claims non-delivery, you will be refunding the postage cost too.

Can you afford that?

This is nothing against Indonesians, the few I know are lovely people, but it only takes one.

Look into third party insurers. If shipinsurance (not sure of the name but they have a good reputation on eBay) will not insure for a destination, take that as expert advice. And do look into their fees, you may be pleasantly surprised.

Thank you very much for the information about insurance. I will definitely look into that because, as you say, I can not afford to be out the auction value as well as the items themselves.
