How to stop the shipping notifications sent by Paypal / Canada Post - they are driving me crazy! Ever since the HS codes have come to be I get like 4 emails on the shipping statis of my item! How do I turn this off! I don't want all these emails!

I just posted about this as well. I don't like them as a buyer, and I don't like them as a seller either. Someone doesn't need to know that the label was printed, only to get another email a few hours later to say that the item was shipped, especially when Paypal already has sent an e-mail message with full details about the shipment. Let the buyer check the status of the shipment when they want, rather than harassing the buyer. Add that to the fact that eBay also sends it's own shipment notification, the messages are just too much. Even more funny is the fact that Canada Post will send a messages to the buyer that the package has been delivered, after the buyer already has it!
When you are the seller, you will also get these notifications from Canada Post. They even send you the messages telling the SELLER that the item has been shipped. Also from a sellers point of view, it makes me look bad because Paypal and Canada Post have decided to annoy my buyer.
They started doing this not to long ago. It really needs to stop.

and to answer the original question, you can't stop them.
Paypal has automatically opted both the buyer and seller to receive these e-mail messages.

At the moment there is no way to turn them off. But...
Check to see if your mail program has sorting options for incoming mail.
If it does you can set things up to automatically divert these messages to a separate mail folder.

I got a message this past week from one of my buyers praising me for keeping him informed about the status of his parcel -- so not all buyers are annoyed with this, some are quite pleased.
That said, paypal does need to make Canada Post mail updates a selectable option, rather than an automatic choice.

this is what Cda post said too that paypal has to turn the notification settings off!

so i firmly believe these email notifications are from Canada Post not paypal as I used Canada Post shipping online and I got the usual drop off notification; the email is from Canada Post not Paypal. I am working with Canada Post now to try and STOP this as I received 4 notifications for 1 shipment! 1. drop off 2. available for pick up 3. delivered 4. signature
You can sign up online for notifications so what's the purpose if Canada Post forces you to receive all these notifications?!
