I agreed to purchase a buy now item. The seller cancels transaction

I agreed to purchase a buy now item. The seller cancels transaction and says he sold them an hour ago on another site!

There was nothing in listing stating that he reserves right to cancel listing as item are for sale elsewhere. 

As a buyer we have to commit to a purchase. Do sellers not have to commit to sell items?????
