I have been on eBay long enough to know the feeling when somebody cancels my bid. However, I've never made a scene and never sent a message to the seller calling him a scammer or used profanity.

How would you feel?

Not that The OP is likely to bid on one of your items again, I hope you've added them to you blocked buyer list.

I think we all get the warm fuzzies when we realize that the guy with the anger management issues is buying firearm parts.

I can assure you that he won't buy anything from me.

Certainly an email with profanity is not ok.

Regarding explanation, I don't see specifically where you indicated it was cancelled due to an error in price. You just posted to Pierre an ebay citation.

And to be honest, that was not the only listing of yours for an expensive item that had a very low starting bid.

Well, thank you for blaming the victim.....

Not really.

It's just not a good idea to start items very very low in the hopes of getting multiple bidders.

It was a reasonable strategy in the 'noughties" but the market has changed and most experienced sellers prefer to start auctions at a price they can be comfortable with.

In my opinion, the bottomfeeders who are attracted by very low starting prices are .... a little hard to deal with.

The guys who realize that a good deal ends with a happy seller and a happy buyer are much more reasonable and are likely to be that much wanted beast, the repeat customer.

Still, you know your own client demographic. The rest is just chit-chat and commentary.

True.

I realize that there's no way to keep everybody happy, no matter how hard you try.

I happened to be one of those who will bend over backwards to satisfy customers. (Not only here but in my professional life too.) I also accept the fact that not all sellers will do that to me and as a buyer, I can't expect the same satisfaction every time.

However, this bidder was rude to me, used profanity and came to this forum to make me look bad.

But that's OK, I know this is not a place to focus on my feelings. What bothers me more is that sometimes people get so confused by lies that they start blaming the victim.

Don't forget to use the Report function at the bottom of the message to indicate you've been spoken to profanely. I would offer this advice regardless of whether it was sent by the buyer or seller. eBay is a place of business. I know some people like to still treat it as if it is the Wild West but it's no place for profane language in written communication. I'm sorry to hear this came to pass.
