I bought an item from an old employer about 15 years ago, and I'm not sure EXACTLY what it is. It was used behind the bar to hold/sell cigarettes, but I have no idea if that's actually what it is meant for. Can anyone give me an idea? There is a lock on the rolltop AND the drawer....please help if you can....

Can you post a picture of it?

I apologize for how long it took me to respond...
I finally figured out how to upload the picture....I thought I had done it already, but it was too big. I found something similar online, which I believe was a railway ticket holder or dispenser, but it wasn't exatly like this, and i believe it was smaller. So, I'm still not sure. Thank you for anything you might be able to tell me.

If and when you list it, whatever it is, be sure to explain the tobacco connection. In fact, you may want to list it in the Tobacciana category.
There are many active collectors there.

Thanks for the advise! As I said, I have NO idea if that's what the piece was just USED for by the former owner, or if it actually IS something to do with that!

Well, I have no idea what is is.........but I LOVE it! I like anything wood and antique and has a history behind it. I find some "weird" or should I say different items at yard sales and even the seller doesn't know what it is.....but if I like it, I always seem to find a way to use it!
