I'm a new seller and I was under the impression that when I sell items I am not charged for anything. But I was billed for shipping.

My item was sold for only $1.30 but I got charged for a shipping fee. I thought as a new seller the first 50 auctions are free?

You do not charged an insertion fee for the first 50 items per month. You are charged a final value free on all sold items.

Thanks to unscrupulous sellers who had 99 cent starting prices with $200 shipping to avoid fees, ebay decided to punish all sellers by making everyone pay a final value fee on shipping as well as the final price of the item.

Non paying buyers deserve unpaid item strikes.

You get to "list" them for free, that is all that is free.
