Here is the deal. Once of my buyers left me a negative. They have invalid contact info...address, phone #, etc. I called the number twice and was told the person doesn't live there. They used to have that number but they don't any more. I've emailed ebay, called power seller support, and safe harbor. They keep saying they will look into it then email me that they can't remove the feedback as the info is valid. I know for a fact that it isn't as I finally tracked the buyer down and he is living on the other side of the country. I've told Safe Harbor this, shown them the different address he has in paypal, etc. They don't seem to care and just email me that they verified the info was valid. I have to ask how can this be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What is the sense of having a feedback removal policy for invalid contact info if they don't go by it. They probably have an address CD that still has him listed as having that number. This is just insane...any suggestions.

Before anyone says anything...yes I know, I should have read it over before I posted it and maybe used a checker. I was just so pissed off at the last email I got from Safe Harbor that I couldn't stop typing.

I went one step further , I opened a squaretrade feedback removal . If they do not respond in 15 days it's removed. Trust me if they will not email you as a customer 75% will not email squaretrade

Square Trade FB removal doesn't work anymore. The only way to have feedback removed is through the new mutual agreement rules.

I sympathize with you. Is there any chance this could be a scam with the people that still live in the house and have the same phone number?

You know, eBay calls and they verify everything is as recorded and the eBay user id is valid and the owner of it lives at that address and then you call and get the opposite.

In the mean time, he is doing the same thing on the other side of the country where the people now residing in his house used to live and he is denying they live there to sellers while confirming their eBay user id to eBay and ST when they call.

Why not call and say you are from ST and see what happens?

I was under the impression that since ebay changed it's rules earlier this year, that ST can only negotiate with the two parties for removal of the strike as per ebay's new rules.

If I'm wrong that's great but unless something changed recently I don't think the ST route works anymore.

It does still work. It can remove a neg FB even if one party has a positive FB which is different from the eBay rules of removing mutual neg FB.

Nothing has changed within ST, only within eBay where you can have neg FB mutually removed if both parties agree. ST still appoints mediators if one party chooses to pay for the mediator and will still recommend neg FB removal if that is one of the conditions that the 2 parties have agreed to.

It is still used by buyers and sellers alike when situations cant be resolved between parties and there is still a glimer of hope for a 3rd party such as ST to intervene.

Just as in the one I have right now. The only problem with the communication between myself and the buyer is that she has spam blockers which arent allowing my emails to get to her and she doesnt realize that is the problem. She believes that I am ignoring her and is getting totally upset.

In this case ST allows us to communicate with each other through their email system at no cost whereas the eBay system didnt.

However had she left me neg FB because of this, I would withhold sending her a new instrument pending her agreeing to remove the neg FB and ST would send that request and their recommendation off to eBay whether I left neg FB or any for the buyer.

The advantage is I could get my neg removed and then leave her neg FB and she could no longer do anything about it.

"I went one step further , I opened a squaretrade feedback removal . If they do not respond in 15 days it's removed."

I tried doing that to remove negatives left for me by a user who decided not to pay for his items because he disagreed with my posted shipping rates AFTER the auction ended (he did similiar things to other sellers and is now NARU). Got a call from SquareTrade after a week or two after filing....they made me a "deal" that for $20USD they would remove the 3 negatives...is there something I'm missing here?

Money, money, money! Ethics has nothing to do with anything here, just more money for the shareholders.

Chances are she wont even get my responses thru ST because of her Spam bloackers. When are people going to wake up and realize the premiums they are paying for their AOL and similar services are nothing more than a rip off that actually deliveres less service NOT better service.

Oh man I just cringe when I see an aol address. One buyer told me she finally discovered that if you delete an email from someone without opening it, all subsequent emails from that SERVER are blocked. Most of them don't even get emails from ebay anymore.

... and they think they are getting a premium service when all they are getting is less service from aol.

If you dont want emails, sell your computer and watch TV.

Hi
I had a buyer refuse to pay for an item and stated they never pruchased it. I went to Square trade but they state you have to pay them a fee.
More money out of our pockets.
I never bothered.
I strongly beleive Ebay should remove negative feedback in instances like mine or anyone else's where is is a obvious uncalled for negative, but I know that will never happen

Assume you were the Buyer and a bad seller tried to chnage his price for shipping after the auction and wanted $20 for insurance. As a Buyer you would want the right to not proceed with buying and the right to report it and give a neg to that Seller.

Its always important to consider that there are bad sellers and bad buyers and each should be reported when they dont uphold the rules or their TOS, it cant always favor the Sellers.

Square trade can not remove feedback, except by mutual withdrawal. I had the case, they did fail to remove neg and even refund my $20 for not providing the service.
