Yes, this happens every now and then. Sometimes the cat is the culprit; sometimes kids really do go nuts on eBay.
Whether it's a real explanation or a lie, it won't affect you as a seller (i.e. no defect) if you simply process a cancellation of the transaction using the reason "buyer made a mistake".
Trust me, the buyer will most likely never come back to leave FB, but if they do, they'll be so happy to have been let off the hook that any FB will a glowing thank-you. In that case, you may make a repeat customer when she does have some cash.

There are all kinds of reasons like that..many of them bogus but as mentioned...its best to cancel the sale so that you get your fees back and move on.
