Hello 'arkt110',

You cannot ask ebay for a refund.  You can, however, gently explain to the seller how unhappy you are about being overcharged by such an amount.  Some folks will insist that since you agreed to the final tab, you ought to simply pay up and shut up.  Honest people, on the other hand, accept that sometimes it can be painfully expensive to ship an item which is not the seller's fault, but bitterly resent being tricked and lied to, conned out of more money than the seller is due.

You also have 60 days from the day you paid in which to leave feedback, - and DSR stars.   The lowest is 1.  Sellers don't like 1s, it looks bad on their selling record.  But don't mention feedback in your pleasant request for restitution, - the seller knows its there.

I wish you luck. 🙂

You agreed to the charges when you bid.

Packaging materials are not free and your widget didn't wrap it self then walk it self to the Post Office.

When I print my postage via USPS (as with your parcel)  I print it STEALTH---so the postage amount does not show.   But---It is easy enough for someone to go to USPS and figure out the amount if the have the inclination to do so---

BUT---my question is.....   If the package had arrived with STEALTH postage--would you have been pleased with your purchase??

Were you pleased with your purchase when you paid for it?

Sellers are allowed to add a handling fee to the cost of shipping. Since you agreed to the total shipping charge when you bought the item, there's not a good reason to be asking for a refund.

I had a buyer recently that got upset with me because I overcharged on shipping by $1, it was terrible!
