I think i have sold an item. The payment is listed as pending. Does that mean that all i have to do now is ship it? Also when will the item be moved to the heading "awaiting shipment"?

Two reasons for pending . Check "details" of payment in PayPal account. Buyer pays with an echeque. These take 8-9 days to clear and shipping only after clearing.

Second.. New seller are often subject to eBay's 21 day hold on payment. If that is the case ship.

There could be a third reason which happened to me the other day.

Due to someone trying to pull a scam a few weeks ago (not through eBay) I had deleted and changed my PayPal account email. I then had to change it on all my eBay listings, of course as an oversight a couple didn't get changed.

Consequently, when the buyer paid for his item the payment tried to go through using the deleted email.

I saw the payment pending and the hourglass and went into PaypPal thinking it was an echeque but nothing showed in my account. Luckily I realised what had happened and quickly reinstated the old address and the payment went through at once.

Don't delete an old email from PayPal immediately. Can store up to 8. Sell Your Item form stores email address and a change must be updated when listing thereafter.
