I wrote an email to the seller that I had bought an item from.  I want to cancel my bid because I had bidded prior to see a note from the seller stipulating that import duties, tax and charges are not included.  I informed the seller that I wanted to stop my bid ant the seller answered me that I have to cancel it.   Can someone inform me how I can cancel a bid?  Thank you in advance.

Hi ..that statement is only a reminder of what all buyers should know..if you import an item into Canada valued at over $20. CDN , CBSA(Customs) can assign charges for duty/tax and is strictly the importer(buyer's) responsibility..

A lot of times items go through and I thought it was $35.00 canadian before they start charging duty and taxes. I have had items for a lot more than that pass through Customs with no problem. I always wondered why but didn't complain.

Its not usually that much depending on the price of the item you purchased and expect this if you are planning on buying from the US. There is an automatic processing charge of $5.00 though if they do decide to do the paperwork. And this might have went up some as I don't buy much anymore.
