I received this feed back from an International buyer this morning. She's in france. DELIVERY NOT RAPIDS THE PRESENT PLEASES TO RECOMMEND. So I emailed her and asked if she was feeling she didn't get her package quickly. I mailed it the same day I received her payment. She replied back that it took 17 days not 10 days...lol. She paid on June 20. So I emailed her back trying to explain business days to her and she doesn't feel that matters, it still took 17 days. The buyer is not even close to being a newbie. However, she did mention that she does recommend me...lol.

I jusst found this so funny...but then again maybe it's just me. :^O

tried reversing this as English to French, using freetranslation.com
"LA LIVRAISON PAS RAPIDES que LE PRESENT PLAIT RECOMMANDER"
For those fluent in French- is this the correct gist of it?

Bablefish was awful. This is what they reverse translate to:
"RAPIDS DE LA LIVRAISON PAS QUE LE PRÉSENT SATISFAIT DE RECOMMANDER"
If not totally tortured- is this at all french?

Colleen,

I think your buyer was just trying to say that it took a while for her package to get to her, but she is pleased to recommend you! Other buyers will understand the positive comment and that this was an international shipment.

Have a good night!

Well I do speak French and none of it makes any sense to me. My teacher years ago always said it wasn't like turning over pancakes (in other words, you cannot translate it word for word).

I know it's really hard to accept feedback like that when you probably bent over backwards to ship it the next day. Such is sometimes the INJUSTICE of the eBay feedback system. I have been fortunate (knock on wood) to so far only receive a neutral and one or two comments alongside positive feedback. My neutral was for the exact same thing. Buyer paid Thursday night. I shipped Friday before the pick-up and even included a freebie plus thank you note. Buyer receives package (with date of postage on postal sticker) exactly 2 weeks or 10 business days later which falls within the time frame I carefully tell them it will take. Buyer leaves neutral for slow shipping. Nice buyer! There is more to this story but I will spare you all the soap opera details.

Anyhow, the vast majority of buyers are really great. I try not to let the ones that are unreasonable get to me... try being the operative word. Thankfully, they only come around once in a while. What can you do? No matter how hard you try to be fair and please everyone there are some people that just can't be pleased.

What I would like to see though is some sort of fine tuning over how the buyer's leave DSR's, something to get them to do their homework and look at the date the postal label was generated; look and compare the actual shipping cost vs the invoiced shipping cost, etc.

I also think eBay needs to educate them more about what is considered a reasonable handling fee. They should also remove "Shipping Time" and replace it with "Order Processing Time". It seems that a lot of us are bending over backwards to explain all the little DSR details to our buyers and I think our listings are detailed enough as it is. This should be eBay's job....but if we can trust them to do it right is completely another matter!

While it is a lovely thought- and I do agree that most buyers ARE NOT educated about a seller's reality; that is reality! It is hard enough to get buyers to buy- without burdening them with extra educational courses. Thankfully eBay has placed some time frames on certain activities, so that near knee jerk reactions on the part of NEW buyers is not possible.

As for the ACTUAL SHIPPING COST vs INVOICED COST- as I have mentioned- FUEL SURCHARGES do not appear on the printed label obtained at a Post Office. So- when this SURCHARGE is close to $4 how do prove this to the customer, short of scanning the Postal Receipt, and e-mailing it to the buyer? Education is wonderful, but it can be tedious.

If only there was a way to express the FINISHED price the customer- without the S/H issues?

Would an overall reduction in eBay's FINAL VALUE FEES*- be helpful, if eBay provided for ALL INCLUSIVE PRICING?
(* As if eBay does anymore work when your item sells for BIG $$$$!- why not ONE FEE PER LISTING- P E R I O D.)
Many items would be able to a ONE PRICE FITS ALL- and be included.
While those items falling outside of this model, like heavy items- weight by distance- would be treated differently. eBay already has different structures for different items. And even some for listing in different categories.

So- would a REDUCTION in fees- ALL THE TIME, for those that offered SHIPPING INCLUDED- help alleviate some of these problems?

I think it would.

Ebay has finally listened to the sellers and "revised" their feedback policies. It's still unjust that a seller cannot leave neutral or negative feedback but at least the buyer will have the power to change the feedback left for a seller. Also, neutrals will no longer be calculated in the percentage.

That last one was a biggy for me. I have never received a negative feedback yet my feedback rating is not 100%. Looks like Ebay is fixing this and I'll be getting the 100% status back. WooHoo! 🙂

When I lost my 100% due to the changes Ebay made because of neutrals I was pretty upset to say the least. But I had accepted it. The part I was really having a hard time with is that it shows I have 17 neutrals. One for each item purchased, even though it was only 3 orders. One order had 14 items, left by a buyer who's package had been sent back to me as undeliverable. I sent back to the buyer at my expense and she still gave me neutrals because of how long it took. So now that I get it back it will still show 17 neutrals. But at least Ebay listened to us. Which I am very happy with.
