A dentist acted legally when he fired an assistant that he found attractive simply because he and his wife viewed the woman as a threat to their marriage, the all-male Iowa Supreme Court ruled Friday.
This is so stupid.
She should protest in front of the dentist's office, Asking his patients if they know that they have a pervert working on their teeth.

Well, it is ridiculous……….but funny. Based on her photo (just a head of course) she is fairly attractive. I did find a full back shot in another article (maybe outside the court building) but I’m not sure if it can be verified it really is her. However….if it is her, then being fired will probably get her a 100 grand offer from Playboy, another 200 grand in talk show requests, and who knows where it will go from there. My guess is the dentist did her a huge favour! In every dark cloud….there might be a silver lining.

Wow, this is just.....WOW!!
I mean seriously? She worked for him for 10 years and now all of a sudden this?
IMO there is WAY more to this story for sure.
The wife finding out something...I'm betting she tore a strip out of him and now he is going to extremes to keep his marriage together for the "love"......$$$$$$$. Oh and of course go to the Pastor to have everything "validated" by a religious figure.
Omg the "bulge" comment....it's like saying, "hey don't let me find you attractive or I might have to sexually assault you!!"
IMO, this dentist is a typical disgusting pig of a man who couldn't control himself, in probably a miserable marriage, who got caught being a pig and his wife went loco on him. He got his butt saved by the Iowa court system.
This whole thing is disgusting.....

It's not stupid actually. However ridiculous and absurd the reason, the court's job was to decide if reason was unlawful (e.g. race, nationality, religion, sex, age, sexual orientation, participating in an criminal investigation against employer, refusal to commit an illegal act, employer not following their own termination procedures). If there was a proper notice, severance package, the reason could have been anything but unlawful reasons. She has no grounds.
It's just a media sensation out of nothing like pretty much most "news" these days. CNN used to be reputable, now even they are low enough to publish this on front page. Switching to CBC.
Merry Christmas

It's not stupid actually.
It comes under a thing called discrimination. Courts are now ruling that discrimination against a person for physical appearance (eg. too fat, too short) is illegal. Attractiveness would fall under that.

It's definitely discrimination. Discrimination is not a "thing" it's "recognition of the difference".
Discriminations by race, nationality, sex, age, orientation
Discrimination by skills, experience, education, intellectual capacity, ability to travel, interview test pass/fail
Only some forms of discrimination are unlawful
Law is not implied, if it is not written, it's not unlawful. Everything that's not forbidden is allowed.

And yes, the case is ABSURD, but is arguably LAWFUL.
