It should be eaisier to retract or change bid if a mistake on the buyers part has been made, there is nothing on the MAIN ebay account page that shows this, why?????
There should be a simple "RETRACT BID" part of the main page of all "MY EBAY" customers to simplify things, why is this not so.
A simple "RETRACT BID" rather that going through all the pages and bs to find it????
Get with the simplistics in life, it's a whole lot easier. I know you are going to ignore this message, because it is not Pro-eBay!

Here is my question to the 1000's of buyer I have heard say I made or mistake or my kid click on it etc. etc.
you have to click bid or bid confirmation etc, 3 times before you actual bid is entered so how do you bid by mistake?
I have been doing ebay for years and never have retracted a bid yet I have had dozens of buyers tell me how they did it by mistake..
To find a simple way to retract your bid is not the issue ... Reading what your bidding on before you bid is the solution ..

You were able to find the correct link 5 times in the last year.
So why not bookmark it?

If I had to book mark every time I needed to get somewhere, I would have hundreds of bookmarks? It was only this one time.

It's not hard to retract a bid, but sellers don't like it.
I used to be a consummate shopper..........
Even when I had my hands full I'd change my mind many times, and returns were nothing for me.
They'd still roll out the red carpet when they saw me coming on my next round.
On eBay, however, things are a little different................. but canceling isn't that difficult either.
Better to cancel now then to return later.

I wish there were more reasons for Bid Retractions allowed by eBay. Personally, I would include: I changed my mind/ found it elsewhere/ the meds kicked in/ I ran out of money.... and probably a few foolish ones.
This would be annoying, but at least sellers would not have to deal with the farce of chasing a deadbeat buyer while the unpaid item cannot be relisted.
I would also like to see bidder-initiated Seller Cancellations of Bid listed on the buyer's feedback page, as Bid Retractions are now.
