Item paid for, but no confirmation of international shipping received.

Hi,

I bid and paid for an item promptly, but received no confirmation that the item was shipped internationally. Paypal confirms payment, and after 4 days I messaged the seller asking about item.  Seller says they were busy, and hadn't uploaded the information, but that the package had been shipped. I asked them to upload the info, but after 2 more days, I've received no messages, no info, nothing... What do I do, ... trust that the seller sent the item and wait to see if it comes, continue to message the seller?? I have never had this problem before and all of my other purchases went smoothly.  Is this just a bad seller??  Thanks!!

From overseas or from the  USA?

And remember not every parcel is tracked, especially if the item is low cost.

From North America, allow 20 days from payment, then go to the Resolution Centre and open an Item Not Received dispute.

You have already contacted the seller, so skip the first step which tells you to do that.

If the seller cannot prove delivery, you will be refunded.

From overseas, the same but extend the deadline to 30 days.

And do NOT allow the seller to promise a 'replacement' . It won't arrive either.

If you decide to contact the seller again-- and really it won't help-- ask for shipping date , shipping service and tracking number.

Give him the date of payment and the transaction number as well as the date of the PP payment. The title of the listing might help him too.

The tracking number is NOT important. Tracking does nothing for you as a buyer.

If the item is delivered when you are not home the postie will leave a card telling you when and where to pickup.

If you ordered this after Nov. 27th, it will not arrive in time for Christmas.

Re: Item paid for, but no confirmation of international s...

Thanks for your reply! The item was to be shipped from the USA to Canada international priority shipping within 2 days of payment, with international tracking. I was not expecting or needing it for Christmas. If I had the tracking info, at least I'd know that it was actually sent and on it's way. I guess I will wait and see until the 20 days elapses, and go from there... Thanks again and Happy Holidays!

The item was to be shipped from the USA to Canada international priority shipping within 2 days of payment, with international tracking.

In spite of the name, 'priority' shipping is not particularly fast.

https://www.usps.com/international/priority-mail-international.htm

It offers "free' boxes and envelopes, which are really included in the price and confirmation of delivery which protects the sender against false claims of non-delivery.

But the 6-10 days delivery has the notation:

For many major markets. Actual number of days may vary based on origin, destination, and customs delays.

So your parcel may not be travelling on days when the postal system is understaffed (it never really closes down), or if you live in Nunavut  or Calabogie ON, or if CBSA decides to check that you are not importing blood diamonds.

And of course, Americans can't ship international parcels by dropping them into a corner box as we do. They have to be taken to an actual Post Office or picked up by a postal worker, which limits how quickly the seller can get your parcel into the mail. Think 'business' days instead of 'calendar' days.

not bad seller, impatient buyer, first misstake buying from another country, second mistake dont bug the guy to death, sheash if its international could be two months to get your item if it was sent by land, more than likely if it was cheap shipping could be awhile, air mial should be 10 plus buissnes days
