Item stuck in customs

So I bought an item of significant value and the seller did express mail shipping from the get-go this item has been very slow. It took nearly a month to leave Russia and now its been three weeks and it's stuck now in US Customs. I filed an item not received claim just to protect myself if the item is not as describe. I've already escalated the claim to ebay and they gave the seller an extension since tracking was provided along with the fact the item was indeed moving. However the item has hit another dead end, what exactly would customer service do for me? Should I anticipate looking again for the item I bought at an another seller?

Item stuck in customs

You know the item is out of your seller's hands and is moving.

Yes, there have been shipping delays.

Are you using a US address? You are currently on eBayCANADA.

Do you have a Customs number? Have you called US Customs?

Will the item be delivered by USPS? Have you stopped in at your local Post Office (better than a voice on the phone) and talked to the Postmaster?

While eBay has a very short deadline for Disputes, Paypal allows six months (180 days).

And if you back your PP account with a credit card, you are also covered by the card's chargeback policy.

Patience seems to be the word here.
