While I have your attention, I have a couple of PSAs:
Canada Post Labour Dispute
Even though this is now out of the news, eBay continues monitor progress and raise concerns about the business uncertainty resulting from the ongoing negotiations between Canada Post Corporation and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW).
As an example, last week, Andrea Stairs, Managing Director of eBay Canada, wrote a letter to Deepak Chopra, President & CEO of Canada Post, and Mike Palecek, National President of CUPW. The letter described the impact of the ongoing uncertainty on Canadian sellers and strongly encouraged the parties to reach an agreement that would restore confidence in the postal system. Read more and see the letter at the link below.

No Weekly Session Next Week
Many of us are going to eBay Open in Las Vegas next week, me one of them. Between the conference and the craps table, I may not be able to hold the weekly session as scheduled. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi Raphael!
I'm sad to advise that I've given the new dedicated support via email a try with disappointing results so far.
4 days ago I put in a request advising that I wasn't getting my rebates for promoted ads as I should.
I have not heard anything aside from the autoresponse.
When I put the request in, (on July 16) I got this back:
=============================================================
Hello ricarmic,
Thank you for contacting eBay Merchant Support. We have received your request and will be working to resolve your issue over the next 24-48 hours. We will reach out to you directly if additional information is needed. For immediate assistance please give us a call at 1-87(I TOOK THE 1-800 NUMBER OUT).
Please use the number 1-80238011278 as a reference if contacting Merchant Support by phone. We appreciate your patience while we get you the answers you need.
==============================================================
The one thing that I expected to be "worthwhile" for the additional anchor store charges was a dedicated support group. This is kind of a sad start.
My preference was to identify the facts in an email because I'm one of those legacy users, who lists on .COM only and who's store is on .COM and I thought it would make it easier on the support folks....if they could read the details in front of them.

I'm very glad to hear it. I was wishing someone would express Canadian eBay seller concerns directly to both sides. There must be thousands of us affected (can you tell us how many -- approximately -- Canadian eBay sellers there are?).
I hope she cc'd the PM.

OK, two questions this week (we'll let you off the hook for next week as long as you share your gambling winnings with everyone who comes to the board today -- LOL).
1) Can you please clarify the new pricing for Gallery Plus? I understood the feature was now free for any item under $150.00. Yet recently I created 3 new listings on Auctiva with GP, posted them to eBay and got charged the $1.29 CDN fee for each. I was also about to get charged for GP when using "Sell Similar" to create new listings, but backed out in time. Does free Gallery Plus only apply to new listings created directly on eBay, or is something else going on?
2) I decided I'd try to give my quarterly $35 shipping supplies coupon a try this time around. I got routed to a dead-end. To summarize, the link in the eBay message about the coupon led to a U.S. eBay supply store, and the items I was interested in (packing tape) all showed "Will not ship to Canada". I gave up. Yet at the bottom of each listing it clearly invites eBay sellers to use their coupons to purchase that product. Please see the two screen shots in the post below -- red circled text especially (for some reason I couldn't upload the 2 photos into this post). What's going on with this? I'm at a loss.

Raphael, I couldn't seem to insert these images into the post above, so here they are. By the way, I was on eBay.ca when I picked up the message and followed the link to this store, if that makes any difference.
and the listing text:

Hi rlcarmic,
From the email you got in response, I'm not sure there was to be a follow up email or phone call. I would recommend calling the number provided if the issue wasn't resolved in the first 48 hours.

Hi rose-dee,
Thanks for the support! Unfortunately I am not at liberty to share the Canadian sellers number.
Andrea has CCed 3 ministers on her letter:
Hon. MaryAnn Mihychuk, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour
Hon. Judy Foote, Minister of Public Services and Procurement
Hon. Bardish Chagger, Minister of Small Business and Tourism

Hmmm.
The issue is not fixed as far as I can see.
In a past life I was accountable for a help desk and never, ever, did we ask our "customers" to just assume the issue would be fixed with no follow up from us at all. In the worst case, if it was fixed behind the scenes, the requestor was always contacted to advise that we believed the issue was resolved and to contact us if there were continuing problems.
No response at all, even to advise that it is fixed, if in fact that is how the process is supposed to work, is quite unimpressive, moreso for a special dedicated support group that theoretically I'm helping pay for through the increased anchor store fees.
I would appreciate it if you can confirm what their process is for email requests. I can't imagine "no response" is actually part of it, I much more strongly suspect they are just very behind.....but one never knows these days.
At some point I will give them a call.....

Fees should be the same whether you're using Sell Similar or creating a brand new listing, or whether you're on the eBay site or using a 3rd party tool like Auctiva.
I'd like to review the fees for the items you are talking about, as the $1.29 charges don't add up to just the Gallery Plus fees. GP is $1 for 30 day or GTC listings priced under $150. Can you send me the item numbers please? Thanks!

Not sure what happened there, could you forward me the email you got? Seems the link wasn't updated properly.
When you go to the eBay supplies store you should see items that do ship to Canada. From there you should be able to use your coupon.

I just got an odd sale.
I asked $85 for a postage lot of 50 $2 stamps with free domestic shipping.
When I looked at the PP payment, it showed $60 only was paid and the shipping address was Germany.
How can this happen?
And if the buyer doesn't correct himself, how do I cancel the sale?

Hi Raphael,
I did receive a shipping coupon in June but haven't yet received one for this quarter. Are they still being sent out?

Is there a test for gsp items on .com right now?
When some of us look at a gsp item, the shipping charges are stated but the import charges are not mentioned in the body of the listing.
The only way to see the import charges (or to even know that they exist) is to click on buy it now or add to cart. I hope that they aren't considering this to be a permanent change as it is very misleading. I can easily see someone getting upset once they have spent the time on deciding which item to buy only to find it that it would cost them more than what they originally thought.

Ok I decided to call in to find out how the 1-800 approach worked.
Was on hold for about 20 minutes, but I did reach a "local" dedicated support person who was very helpful.
As a note I asked about the "no response" part and the email support group is very behind as I suspected. Normally a response would be received.

Hi Raphael.
What happens to my USD GTC listings on eBay.ca after Aug.3/16? When eBay.ca starts to end the USD listings from renewing, will they show up as "ended listings" / "unsold listings" or will they disappear?
Thanks.

That listing shows that "Best Offer" was accepted. Are you sure you had your BO set up correctly so any offer does not go through automatically?
If you don't use BO have you looked at your listing to see if it could have happened without your knowing? Considering all the problems sellers are having with listings lately that are not of their own doing.

The lot of 100 X $1.00 also says it was sold by Best Offer on July 18. Did that happen too or was it sold for the full price of $85?
It's not my business but if there's a glitch doing this to sellers then we all need to know about it and to check our listings.
