I listed a Corningware Percolator which was immediately pulled. Ebay explained it was a recall by Corning and none of these items would be allowed on ebay anymore. Problem is, if you do a search, you will see many now and many sold. Has anybody had this happen? Do I simply relist?

Are you saying that the unit you were selling has been recalled by the manufacturer due to electrical or other similar problems? I didnt quite understand that part of what you were saying.

If that is the case, you may want to check with Corning before considering relisting or selling that unot anywhere due to potetntial product liability issues.

This is what ebay's letter said so it seems to be a manufacturer recall. What I don't understand is why there are so many being listed and sold if this is the case. My ad title is "Corning CORNFLOWER BLUE corningware COFFEE POT perc 6" which is pretty much the same as all the others. Does this mean they just haven't been caught? If so, why not? Mine was scheduled to list last night and never even got up so it was caught immediately. I am wondering why everyone else's ad didn't get pulled. Basically, what am I missing here?

"The manufacturer has asked us to remove all Corning percolators, whether or not they
are the specific models that were recalled. This includes, but is not limited to,
all cylinder-shaped pots and percolators that resemble the recalled model.
Therefore, we will not permit Corning percolators on eBay."

Although there might be a liability issue which could be huge, Ebay's description is somewhat a little to broad for my liking.

If it is a particular model, then fine, but to state across the board, all of this make then whoa, this could lead to some real problems.

In the golf business, many manufacturers do not like their products being listed on Ebay, because lets face it in many cases it devalues the retail market. Now if a company stated that for recall reasons they wanted not only a particular make and model pulled, but all carrying their brand name, it would be awful.

Try listing it as a flower pot that you can brew coffee in.

Or not using a brand name with it, something like "Major Brand name Coffee Pot, email for details"

Yes....do that and see what happens. I think that's a riot. Of course there are no eyes in here reading what we're saying and everything should be fine!
