Listing Toy Guns. Well here we go again. I've had another toy gun removed even after following all of the policies - I just don't get it.

Maybe ebay just doesn't want me to list toy guns and I'm not getting it through my thick skull.  I've followed their policy to the "T".  I think maybe they're getting hung up with the "Bright Orange Plug being permanently attached".  Honestly, anyone with any common sense knows there is no such thing as "permanently attached"; 99.999999% of all plugs on toy guns can be removed.  But even so, I do my very best to "permanently attach" a plug to a toy gun without destroying it.  So I guess ebay wins, and I can't list anymore guns because my "policy compliance" is becoming dismal.  I don't know why they are hurting "one of the good guys".  Has anyone else had this issue?  Do you have any other solution other than not to list toy guns?  I do see other listings similar to mine and they don't seem to be having an issue (or the listings wouldn't be there).

Hello 'smjaala',

There may be nothing wrong with your listings, but if someone reports it, ebay may remove it anyway.  Or it may indeed be the thing about the bright orange plug.

Since you are having these problems I cannot understand why you persist in attempting to sell them on ebay.  It is warm weather now, - how 'bout a garage sale? 🙂

If any of the fake weapons you wish to offer for sale are manufactured by the maker of, say, a BB gun, - well BB guns are not allowed and perhaps ebay chooses not to make the distinction.

I do not believe ebay is trying to hurt you, as you say.  Rather, there are people who sincerely believe that guns are not acceptably healthy instruments of play for developing appropriate social-interaction skills in children.  At the same time, some parts of the country are having difficulty with these kinds of 'fake toys' being used in real robberies because ordinary people - most of whom have never even seen a gun - cannot tell the difference.

In short, it is quite likely that unless your 'toys' are clearly marked with 'Fischer Price' or 'Mattel', it is most probable that you will continue to be unable to successfully list them.

For anyone who wants to see the policy on firearms:

Full compliance no not and as dmil state , if reported, eBay will pull and to attempt reinstatement , a waste of valuable time.

Its a problematic category and need to ask yourself .. is it worth risking restrictions for to many violations.

I think the time has come for you to think of another venue for selling your toy guns. Is it worth facing eBay sanctions and the possibility of an account suspension. Toy collectors shows may be a better place to sell these items.

Apparently your cap gun plug watcher is engaged in a discriminatory action against seller 7673carol.

As regardless of methods used by seller to comply with selling rules including gluing into pot metal cap guns the required orange plug so stating in description and showing product plug used .

And compiling a list of item numbers with no plug in cap guns that goes thru the selling cycle unnoticed by the eBay plug watcher all of 7673carol cap guns with plugs are removed?

I will send this list to eBay corp. for review.

Also on YOUTUBE complaints on eBay practice with many noting many cap guns and boxes of live caps get sold..
