Perhaps I'm not understanding your concern, if that's the case please correct me.

The $750 rule is seller facing. It means that if a seller fails to use delivery confirmation with signature when shipping an item equal or above $750 in value, they risk losing a case against a buyer complaining about not having received the item.

Ok...... but what about items under $750?

If the seller doesn't use signature confirmation for items under $750 but with tracking............ and the item does not arrive......

What does that mean for the buyer if a case is opened?

It suggests that the seller would win these cases.

The last part of my post....Regardless of where an item was purchased, credit card chargebacks always go through Paypal if that was how an item was paid for?

Is that correct too?

I suppose it wouldn't matter if there was signature confirmation in that case since a chargeback just requires proof of shipping..

Yes. That's correct. Thanks.

Hi pjcdn2005.

For Canadian sellers who meet all US eTRS qualifications except uploading of tracking, here's what happens:

1. You get a boost in Best Match. Not as large a boost as a US eTRS seller who meet all qualifications, but a better boost than not being eTRS at all.

2. You get a Final Value Fee discount on all sold listings, so long as they were listed on eBay.com or eBay.ca (in the English eBay.ca listing flow or the French eBay.ca listing flow ).

3. You do not get a Top Rated Seller badge on your listings on eBay.com.

Item 3 is the source of confusion, because we originally announced that Canadians WOULD get the badge. Later, it was decided that this could be potentially confusing to US buyers (and other sellers) on eBay.com, and the decision was reversed.

Thanks Rodney. So there is no visible way for those sellers to see that they are meeting the rest of the TRS requirements? Is the only indication that they are receiving the 20% discount on .com sales? Or does anyone who has global TRS receive the discount from both sites?

.I think that one source of confusion is that it shows in their dashboard that they don't need to meet the tracking requirements for TRS yet the dashboard says that they don't qualify.  I can't see their dashboards so I am just going by what I've been told since mine is different.

I jumped right in and updated my store to yearly on May 1st, thinking that was the best thing to do. As of that day my sales have almost disappeared. Its as if somebody turned off the switch. Its happened on my store and my non-store. Last year at this time sales were great. I'm listing new items every day. Do you think this is due to the glut of listings on ebay due to the free listings and this will just take a while to level out? Or am I missing something else?

Hi vintagenorth,

Off hand I can't say that there would be any correlation between changing to a yearly store subscription would have anything to do with a drop in sales. It's not impossible that a sudden influx of new listings could cause something like this and would likely level out over time.

I recommend checking the performance of your listings using the Listing Analytics tool. This will give you an idea of how many impressions (appearances in search results) you get per listing. If the impressions seem normal, we can rule out this hypothesis.

eBay photo requirements effective July 1st

500 pixel minimum requirement plus no borders etc.

eBay began sending out emails to sellers recently warning sellers that some of their listings do not meet the new photo requirements.

Why did eBay wait until the deadline for the 500 pixel requirement is 2 months away to inform sellers which pictures are non-compliant?  When the policy was announced over a year ago, a tool to check listings should have been made available soon after for sellers. Warning emails should have been sent back then. Many sellers simply had no idea that their listings would be non-compliant since they could not easily check all listings.

I do think that eBay should have been proactive and sending out those warning messages months ago and not now with 2 months to go. The handling of the changes for photo requirements was very poorly handled by eBay.

Not necessarily. All it means is that the signature part would ne be a factor in eBay's decision.

Good question. Let me see if I can get the same data on my side and I'll write you an email later.

Sellers registered in Canada get the FVF discount on all their North American listings, if they either meet the Global eTRS requirements or the US eTRS requirements.

This is indeed quite confusing from a seller dashboard perspective! We were able to get some accommodation within the rules for Canadian sellers, but the dashboard doesn't reflect this very clearly. We'll work with the Seller Dashboard team to see if there's something we can do.
