It has been a week and I'm still waiting for some response...or at least the courtesy of an acknowledgment that you have read and understood the problems.
For your convenience I have bolded the questions involved with the following scenario for which I would appreciate an answer.

I'm not as disturbed by the feedback issues as others. Compared to Best Match it is a minor inconvenience.
Best Match is set up in such a way to completely favor scammers which in no way improves the buyer experience. A fraudulent seller simply has to develop a user id with questionable feedback via small purchases, then they can begin to sell and find themselves advantaged in Best Match.
Sellers with YEARS of proven reliability can easily find themselves at the bottom of search because of a low shipping DSR in the past 30 days. eBay has set it up to completely disregard years of reliable selling.
When Best Match was first implemented I was thrilled with it. It was based solely upon the listings that had attracted customers and sold with positive results in the past. It actually favored reliable sellers who had proven themselves through sales over the years. Then eBay introduced DSRs into the equation and it all went to h*ll in a hand-basket.

I have been selling salt lamps for years. This seller has been getting away with fee avoidance for just as long. I can GUARANTEE you that regardless of how many you buy or how they are shipped you CAN NOT get a 5 pound, finished salt lamp from Pakistan (where they are ALL mined) to North America for 99 cents each. Have a look at his shipping charge...$131.02 via USPS ground within the United States. It is obvious that this person is making his profit ENTIRELY off shipping charges and avoiding ebay fees.
He sells the same items under multiple id's with different pricing structures and shipping charges set up for each id. None of his id's has been as successful or rated FB as positive as mine over the years. When regular search and the original Best Match were in place my items rose to the top above all of this as buyers had been much more satisfied over the years with my honest sales practices and quality products. Since the implementation of DSR's into the equation ALL of his listings are ahead of mine. Why? Because I have a 4.5 shipping charge DSR for the past 30 days despite the fact that I subsidize shipping and offer 60% off the actual cost of UPS Ground service to my customers.
eBay is effectively shoving his listings, which have historically not resulted in a great deal of satisfaction down the throats of buyers, while my items...which have been received very well over the years languish on page 10 of search.
Please explain how this is a positive experience for
a) eBay, who are losing FVFs due to fee avoidance,
b) Buyers, to whom ebay is promoting products sold by people with a less than stellar history of product and customer service, or
c) Decent Sellers with years of proven FB and customer satisfaction who are now selling very little.

Just to clarify, the only reason I suggested we have the conversation in private is that whoscloset indicated that she was insulted by something I had written. If I had insulted her, I wanted to take that offline. I prefer to deal with personal issues in a private forum.
eBay issues, I am happy to discuss here as always.
whoscloset, in my personal instance, you would be mistaken that most of my feedback is from buying. Less than 30% of my feedback is from buying - 70%+ is selling. I got started as a seller when I was on maternity leave, before I started working at eBay. Money was tight, and a friend of mine suggested I sell stuff on eBay to help cover the bills.
eBay employees are all pretty much required to sell, at least in this office. (I don't think they can actually "make" us sell, but you get publicly humiliated by your colleagues if you don't.) Many of us have tried Stores at one point or another (myself included), we usually test drive new formats or products (to clear out the bugs) and struggle with the postal system. One of my colleagues once wrapped and mailed an entire set of luggage through Canada Post.
I want to address the second half of your post, but I have to go pick up my daughter from daycare. Let me come back to it tomorrow and let you know my thoughts. It will give me the evening to think about my response anyway.

Have you started compilling suggestions & complaints that you received the last few weeks from sellers on this board (and other boards)? To whom was it sent to ?
And what do they think about this whole mess ? Any plans to improve situation in the near future ?

you are mistaken, I have had my Search Standing lowered because of my Shipping & Handling. Check out your seller dashboard Summary, click on the search standing, even though my buyers satisfaction rating is GOOD, my search standard was lowered because of my shipping and handling, IT SAYS: item as described - not applicable, communication - not applicable, shipping time - not applicable, shipping and handling charges - 4.5. Minimum standard required - 4.6. This is my 30 days standard. My yearly is over 4.7 but that doesnt count!!!:-(
As for UK site I was checking on a listing over there and thought while I was there to click on my sellers dashboard, to my surprise... there minimum standard is lower than ours, 4.4 not 4.6. And I dont have a lowered search standing there, which answers alot of questions - I have made NO SALES in CANADA and US recently, but I have sold to Greece, Germany, France, Russia and Italy, what does that tell you.:_|

The fixed price vs auction issue has been around for a while, with plenty of conflicting opinions. I don't think it's as simple as one format is good and the other bad - the eBay business is an incredibly complex combination of auctions vs fixed price, domestic vs cross-border, collectables vs new in-season goods, etc.
John Donahoe has signalled that eBay is interested in finding a better balance between fixed price and auction items. When we introduced Store items into core search two years ago, it was probably the right move with incorrect execution - we dumped too much Store Inventory Format into the core search and damaged the mix. Our Finding product just wasn't ready for the change, and that hurt the overall searching and buying experiences.
Obviously, eBay continues to work on improving this - that's about all I can say given we're publicly traded and they have rather stringent rules about how we disclose our business strategies.
I'm not a data analyst myself, so it's hard for me to say how good our analysts are in the larger scheme of things. In any business, we're going to take some risks that don't work. And in a business this complex, it is very difficult to predict how some changes will impact the various parts of the mechanism. There are more wins than losses in our columns - otherwise, we wouldn't be a successful business.
That doesn't mean, of course, that you wouldn't make a great Business Intelligence analyst, whoscloset. If you're interested, I would encourage you to apply next time we have an open position. I mean that in all sincerity, as we consider eBay experience to be a huge asset when hiring. (We don't generally hire a lot of consultants.)
As to what eBay management thinks of all of this - there's not a person in the company who isn't aware of what sellers are experiencing right now. eBay believes that, in spite of the current pain, this is the right path to go down. Many of you don't agree. If the numbers move the way they are supposed to (fraud down, bad buyer experiences down, top buyer churn down), we may have to agree to disagree. If the marketplace doesn't respond in the way we think it will, it's probably back to the drawing board.
So I'm not communicating anything that people don't already know. What I'm looking for are suggestions and nuggets that could be leveraged to improve the current situation. Or ideas to have at the ready when and if we're sitting around a table examining a particular problem, looking for a solution.
We got several of these at eBay Live ... many sellers (including those who are quite irate at us) came up to us at the booth to present ideas they had. Some were terrific, and we walked them right over to US shipping, PayPal, Ed Specialist, etc. and laid the ideas on the table. These are the best, most constructive kinds of interactions we can have, and my hope is that we can have more of these on this board.

It's wonderful to think that you would achieve all these goals; however, again you are forgetting the consequences that is happening. Look at the effect this is having on the sellers. If you have to step over top of others to get where you want to be, are you really where you want to be. I totally agree something had to happen to help protect the buyers more but not at the expense of the sellers. You have lost a lot of sellers and listings. Tea might be able to provide that info as he seems to know where to find it. But all you had to do was:
1) open up the dispute so there ae more reasons to dispute a neutral or a neg and have them reviewed by a 3rd party.
2) remove the neutrals out of the feed back percentage. They are neither good or bad. In the dictionary neutral is "not causing or reflecting a change in something".
3) Educate the buyers about DSR's especially shipping time. Inform that it is for how quickly the item was shipped. Shipping & Handling fees should be taken right out. The buyer agrees to the terms when they confirm the purchase. If they feel the fees are too high don't shop there. It's how I shop on the net.
They have already agreed to the shipping so why when it comes to the rating they disagree.
When confronted by a difficult problem, you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question, "How would the Lone Ranger handle this?"
