I agree with leb17 , refund and nicely ask that they repay you on arrival. Hopefully you did not choose surface mail for overseas. Can take a couple of months or longer.
Buyers want the cheapest but won't hesitate to hit the dispute button as 30 days approaches.

If you shipped by Small Packet International Surface, you may as well refund your buyer promptly, and hope that he will reimburse you when the item arrives.
But you don't have to depend on the buyer. Small Packet is not Delivery Confirmed but it is covered by Canada Post against LOSS or damage in shipping up to $100. This is automatic.
Phone Canada Post's customer service number and make the insurance claim. Have the mailing date and the shipping invoice number available for the clerk.
There is a waiting period before CP will accept the claim and pay out. Get that date, mark it on your calendar and phone back then.

Hi suzanne
If you sent the item with a DC (Delivery Confirmation) or a Tracking number that shows online the item had been delivered then you have no worries, if not, then you have worries.
If you do not have the DC or tracking number then you will have to refund, if not PP will refund the money and it will not look good on your record with PP, enough of those claims being filed against you will force PP to put restrictions on you.
Best work with the buyer and be very nice about it.
My vote..refund the buyer and if the item does arrive then ask the buyer to pay again.

Hi...
Well that all depends on what you are going to ship and to where.
You can go to your local Staples store or K-Mart or Walmart and ask for some boxes or do a little bit of dumpster diving at them.
I go to my favourite store... the hard spirits (liquor) store and sometimes I have to cut it down, which it does use a bit more tape.
Don't forget if you find some peanuts (those styrofome that looks like a small snake), keep them they do help.
