Need Help Contacting Ebay Regarding Dishonest Buyer!

Just wondering if someone...anyone.. can help us. To make a long story short, I was contacted last fall when a customer of mine purchased a Hello Kitty item. I was contacted after the auction ended from a US buyer who warned me of this persons dishonesty. Seems she has made a habit of purchasing items from sellers then says the item never arrived or arrived broken. She then starts a chargeback with Paypal or demands refunds. She has done this dozens of time over the past 2 years. My US counterpart has been keeping track of her, when she gets suspended from Ebay, she goes right back in and openes a new Ebay account under a different name. As fast as we report her, she's at it again. I have accumilated 45 user names since last September, my US friend has a list of 100+ past user names over and above my list that she has collected. What I need is this, I need to email the higher powers at be at Ebay and try to get this person permanently booted off. I have tried emailing staff at the previously suspended buyers link and have received no results. I have tried finding an email address for a contact person but have been unsuccessful. Does anyone out there in Ebay Canadaland have a suggestion for us? Ebay does not care about this issue but I'd like to remedy that...or am I just kidding myself?? By the way, if you are selling a Hello Kitty item and the buyer is from New Jersey with less than 10 feedbacks...watch out!! Thanks! Mondocanuck

Re post #8, that only applies after the listing has ended and you are either the buyer or selling of the listing. Only buyers and sellers involved in a transaction can get the contact info of the other with which you'd plug into the reverse search. And when one requests it, the other gets it as well. The email contains the info of both buyer & seller.

To my knowledge you can't get that info from a bidder during a live auction, only completed ones at which point it's too late.

Mondo,

As Ann said in #7, you have to make contact with a Pink. Try emailing Izzy or Lilybean or one of other Pinks that show up on CTS. They might be able help you or direct you to someone who can. Anyone that has personal email addresses of the various Pinks isn't really allowed to just hand those out. Sorry. 😞

Lilybean handles shipping & doesn't repsond to messages quickly so I don't know if he can help. Try Izzy or Rodney or Ryanne who post on CTS. They might be able to help you out.

Lilybean is a he? Do they get to choose their own nicknames ?:^O

BTW, the reverse lookup is useless if the buyer has registered with a mobile number (which is the obvious thing for scammers to do).

You CAN get the bidder's contact information DURING the auction. I do it all the time.

And I also block bidders whose registered phone number is a cell.

From reading this, and other boards, it seems to me than many sellers (and no doubt buyers as well) use their cell #'s as their main contact number. I could perhaps understand why you would chose not to deal with someone showing a false address but, their cell? Just my 2 cents worth.

Well, it's my Ebay page. If you don't have a land line, that goes with a traceable address, in your own name, you can't bid on my stuff if your feedback is under 5. But that only applies to people who bid before the end of an auction sale, we still get a few last minute bidders slip through, nothing you can do about that. Everyone has to set up a level of security they are comfortable with. Personally I got sick of dealing with "0" feedback ID"S and just won't do it anymore.

And cell phones, much like plastic surgery, dog physcology, and teats on a bull, are quite unnecessary. I got rid of mine in 1998. Now I have one phone bill, and I've never missed the cell. If I ever just gotta make a call that's easy... I borrow someone's cell phone.:^O

Many peoples are doing just the opposite, dropping their land line in favour of a cell.

With number portability it's very hard to tell if a number is a cell or a landline.

What do you do if the number is unlisted?
