Negative feedback...

Hi everyone,

I sold two rings to a customer who was a "newbie". I left her positive feedback when she paid as is always my custom. She left me negative feedback because she thought the two rings were solid gold & they were yellow gold plated. She didn't understand my abbreviations in the title nor did she read my description which always explains exactly what the item is. I asked her to retract the negative feedback which I thought was totally unfair. She says she would remove it but doesn't know how. Can someone please explain to me how she can retract her negative feedback. This has probably been discussed ad nauseum but I have never had to remove negative feedback & don't know how to do it.
Thanks very much,
Renee

Hi Renee,

I'm sorry this happened to you. Newbies don't have a clue how they are supposed to resolve issues and resort to sending the seller a "message" through feedback. It doesn't help that eBay moves the Ask a Question around to different locations.

If you go to Feedback Forum you will see a link for Request Feedback Revision under Feedback Tools in the right hand navigation bar.

"After" you click on it eBay will give you a list of things you should do "before" you request a feedback revision.

Good luck!

Negative feedback...

I have found in my philatelic part of the world that I am better off not to have abbreviations. To a stamp collector VF NH means something but to a non stamp collector or a new stamp collector I am better off saying Very Fine Never Hinged. After 50 years of trying to abbreviate things its hard getting used to the space available on the internet to describe things.

As for the buyer not reading things that seems to be universal - and not just on Ebay.

Yes, they certainly don't leave us much room for the title. That is why I started using abbreviations fully expecting people to go on to my full description.

My customer has retracted the negative feedback. Thanks, Judy, for your suggestion. It worked!
