I have just received a question from a potential buyer asking for the cost of shipping an item I have listed to Bangkok Thailand. The item I have for sale clearly states that I only ship to Canada and the US.
The reason right now that I am limiting my shipping locations is because I had read somewhere on the eBay policies/rules (and I can not for the life of me find it now) that as a new seller I would be limited to the locations until I had acquired 10 positive feedback points as a seller. I do find this a bit strange given that if I was in fact limited I wouldn't be able to include any other international locations but I am able to, I have just chosen not too in order to abide by the rule.
I am wondering just strict this policy is, and if I was to have any problems with the transaction (which I don't suspect as the buyer has a 100% feedback) would I be just shooting myself in the foot for selling to somewhere 1) i don't have listed to sell to, and 2) I shouldn't be selling to as a new seller anywhere.
Thank you for any advice or help.
