TORONTO - Police have charged a University of Toronto prof and a member of Ontario Premier Premier Kathleen Wynne's transition government with numerous child pornography offences.

According to the RCMP and it appears from his comments that the Prime Minister agrees with it, four people were aware of the cheque issued to Mike Duffy within the Prime Minister office.

So far, Nigel Wright, through his lawyers, has indicated he had not told the Prime Minister about it.

Keep the facts straight. From the RCMP court documents:

"But the decision came only after the Conservative Party of Canada considered paying the bill for Duffy's inappropriately claimed expenses when it was thought he owed $32,000. The party has a fund controlled by Duffy's colleague in the upper chamber, Senator Irving Gerstein.

When the amount owed jumped to $90,000, the party decided it was too much to cover. Duffy was concerned he didn't have the money to cover the reimbursement, the lawyers told the RCMP, and he was also worried that if he didn't claim a primary residence in Prince Edward Island, his eligibility for a Senate seat would be at risk.

But the court documents say Wright let the RCMP know on June 21 that he told Gerstein and three people in Harper's office that he was going to write Duffy a cheque: David van Hemmen, Chris Woodcock, and Benjamin Perrin.

Perrin worked in the Prime Minister's Office as Harper's legal adviser and some media reports have said he was involved in arranging the Duffy deal, a claim he denies. Perrin issued a statement on May 21 saying he "was not consulted on, and did not participate in" Wright's decision and that he never talked to Harper about the matter. He recently left his job in the PMO and is employed by the University of British Columbia

SINCE IT IS SPIN!!! Can you please show me ANYWHERE in that quote where it says by ANYONE that Harper was aware of the transaction? Because all i see is where they say he was NOT AWARE of it.

I’ll tell you mikey, there are lots of ‘’facts out’’ there and even when you are presented with them, you also often…………disappear. Everyone has different “facts” but it’s all in how they are presented.

Have you noticed that everyone gets along fairly well until ‘’the attitude’’ shows up? Even Pierre who you sarcastically called my “brother” just because we both disagreed with one of your views, him and I don’t always see eye to eye but we still get along.

Cancel out the CAPITALS and try to get along with people and you may find things will change for everyone for the better. Your choice.

the "cons" did not ONE member of the Conservative party that just happens to be a BILLIONIARE and a friend of mr. Duffy wrote a PERSONAL cheque from his PRIVATE bank account so that these expenses were paid off and did not cost the taxpayers of Canada 1 cent!

of course "some" people want to put their own "spin" on things

it was a FRIEND ! do you not have FRIENDS that would bail you out if you needed it? Remember this person has more money than he knows what to do with. Him giving Duffy $90,000 is like a friend loaning you $100.

Doesn't matter how much money that friend has -- the fact that both Duffy and the former PM's advisor are politicians, it stinks, and the stink is sticking. They both should've realized how it would've looked to the public whom they serve and are paid by. And $90,000 is NOT chump change to anyone I know. Most people hardly make half that amount in a year. The optics are horrible and shows a lack of political savvy let alone common sense.

and now with pictures of the Federal Leader and the Premier with this person along with Bob Rae only last week it adds to this.\

Wonder if Bob Rae knew it was coming and that is why heretired-before it hit the fan?

and as for chump change this guy makes that much in interest a week! so you can't compare it to what your frind makes unless you say your friend would not lend you a weeks pay if you were in a bind! if that's the case i feel sorry for you as your friends are NOT friends

Sorry, stevenphinn -- you are so out in "left" field, LOL! I wasn't referring to the child pornography scandal -- only the payment to Duffy. And, if I had a friend who was as stupid and greedy as Duffy, I would let him take the consequences and consider I was doing him a favour. You may not know, but I live in BC, and the focus here is not Toronto/Ontario -- I live in TROC which sometimes gets short shrift. Geez Louise!!

he has BEEN charged!!! Also why are they trying to distance themselves from it!! When it first came out they made sure to note that he was not working for Wynne since the 12 (or 14th) of June! Then a picture surfaced of him sitting with Justin trudeau, Bob rae And Ms. Wynne only 1 short week ago at gay pride--sitting front and centre--

But I know--he was ONLY an Employee!!

Cause I always hang out with my EX-employees who only worked for me for a VERY short period of time and have no connection to what so ever!!!!!
