You don't get any tracking/insurance, but it's the most economical!

I agree, letter rate is the most economical.

So now we look at the question of insurance and delivery confirmation, neither of which is available from Canada Post for this service.

If the coin is cheap enough, just add a few cents to your shipping and handling charge as self-insurance against “lost” or damaged items.

If the coin has some value, then look into third party insurers like shipinsurance who will sell you one-off coverage on your parcels.
