Are any other sellers on ebay.ca or ebay.com finding that they are required to enter their UPC and MPN on all re-listings, sell similars and/or revised and new listings two weeks sooner than was announced? The Spring Seller Update said June 29. Mine all went into effect as of June 15. I'm starting to feel as if I was specially selected as a test case seller without prior warning.

When I look to see what Product Identifiers are associated with other sellers on ebay.ca who are selling the EXACT same item(s) as me, there are no UPC or MPN or anything else associated with their listings. None. Zero. Zilch. None on their new listings or revised ones. Only mine.

What gives? Theories?

So far my categories don't require that info but I've read many posts from U.S. sellers who are also being asked for that info right now so you're not alone. Is it possible that the listings you are looking at are gtc listings? It seems to me those listings will be grandfathered in and won't need to have the UPC until they are revised. But if they don't add the info soon there may be negative search placement results. (or so they say)

I don't think they're GTC unless you can do that with an auction too... unless it means the same as GTC to create a rule so that your auction relists continually until it sells.....?

No matter. I realize the other listings will drop in search results both within ebay and from outside search engines leading to ebay but I did not allocate time to deal with the product identifier issues until after June 30.

Plus there is the added insult that the UPCs I had already entered as custom item specifics were not carried over and have to be revised by hand anyway with all relists. And that the ones I added to Bulk relist disappeared and then now give me an error message when I try to do it again. I'm waiting to hear back on all this and more.

I suppose I'd like some cheese served with all this whine. Obviously, there's little to nothing we can actually do about it.

I've never used the automatic relist but if I had to guess, I would say it is more like relist rather than gtc so if those listings are auctions then my suggestion was probably wrong.
