I received a message that the shipping would be almost $5 more than what was posted when I made my bid (this is on a $5 item). Given that there was less than 12 hours before the auction was ending, I sent the seller a message asking them to cancel. I have not yet heard back, and I "won" the auction.
What are my options, if the seller remains uncooperative?
Thanks!!

It is impossible for the seller to change the shipping costs on a listing when a bid is on it

Thanks for your response, losttreasure2. Somehow the seller made it through some loophole - the shipping remained the same and then after the auction ended the "new price" appeared. I still have not heard back from them, I'll just wait for the moment I guess.

Hey, same here. I just won an auction minutes ago.
Since 2 days, the items was at 10$ with a shipping of 6.99$.
In the meantime I've been outbid. In the last minutes, I've placed a bid to win the match and won for 12.63$, BUT the shipping is now 16.99$...
I remember having calculated an amount to expense for the bid and I remember clearly that shipping was at 6.99$.
Something wrong is going there!

Ok got it, what was wrong was me... I was in the dot 'com' website and it switched to the dot 'ca' when logged in and bid in the last minutes...
Seller told me it is 6.99 for usa, 16.99 for canada. Tested wihout login on the dot 'com' website to confirm that. My bad...
