Seller does not ship to P.O.Box addresses, what now?

I have recently commited to buying an item however when I went to pay a message popped up saying the seller does not ship to P.O. Box addresses (which is the only kind of addresses in my area). I have messaged him to either cancel my order or give me an exception however he has not responded.

Is there anyway to cancel the purchase without him?

Hi .. Nothing you can do but wait on seller. Only seller can file a cancel which ebay will ask you to respond and accept.

I would have thought there would have been an alert at top of commit page stating that seller does not ship to PO box.

I see a lot of low cost items in your history. If one of those and you could provide an alternate address , work/family/friend, seller could send a request funds through PayPal . You may not have buyer protection but likely receive your item.

You are not at risk unless seller files an unpaid item dispute. If that occurs and ebay assigns a strike to your account , appeal using reasons for not paying ie ebay blocked payment and ebay will remove..

You did the right thing. Just wait for the seller's response.

The whole "no PO boxes" thing comes from the refusal of UPS and other couriers to deliver to PO boxes.

The boxes themselves, as you know, are more secure than house mailboxes.

So if the seller is in the USA and normally ships by UPS, you have dodged a bullet. The driver on your doorstep would be charging you $25 or more for clearing customs plus duty if any and sales tax.

If he starts an Unpaid Item Dispute (and if he is shipping by USPS/CanadaPost) you can win simply by paying.
