Today is a week since I won and paid for an auction. Unfortunately, after several emails and a phonecall, my item still has not been shipped. I have been patient as suggested by other members on this forum but find this totally unacceptable considering the poor communication from the seller. I did receive an email from her yesterday saying she was not well over the weekend and she promised to ship that day (Monday) by Purolator and that a tracking number would be sent to me as soon as possible.
I did email her last week and offer to pay the difference for a courier because of the recent threat of a postal disruption. That was last Thursday the 7th of July. I was promised my item would be shipped the next day on Friday. I did wait for the weekend to pass and there was still no sign of shipping. Yesterdays email gave me hope that it was finally shipped, but there is no evidence of that, so I am wondering what do I do?
I understand that stuff happens but am very disappointed from the lack of comminication as too why this is taking so long.
This is a slap in the face for me who closed their Ebay account last January because of a very negative experience I had back then.
It's sad, because I had more faith in my fellow Canadian who has dissapointed me just the same.
I know, all I can do is wait..........but how long.
I could have walked there and back many times. lol

The threat of a postal disruption is not as imminent as it was a week ago so there is some consolation in that.
It is possible your seller is much more ill or indisposed that she let on when responding to you.
At this point, all you can do is wait. When the deadline for delivery is passed, you will be able to open an Item Not Received Case. This is not an ideal outcome, I realize.
Do realize that if the seller waits longer than his or her expressed handling time to ship the item, they will get into trouble with ebay. There are actual consequences for late shipment in the form of defects that discourage this kind of practise. That, and the buyer will obviously be unhappy before they even receive their item. It's usually enough to spur even the most lax of sellers into action.
Oh, and one final thing, you didn't use an cheque to pay, did you? Those take more than a week to clear.

No, it was done through Paypal express. She thanked me for the quick payment in her first email which was on Thursday.
She has nothing to loose because from her feedback and history, she is an occasional seller and this was the only listing she had in a years time. When I called her, she said that she is a very busy person and I said that I understand that. Surely this should have been done and she is obligated to do so. Her shipping time states within 2 business days. Many people are busy and lead busy lives.
The unfortunate thing here is, I can do nothing but wait.
Thank you very much for your input.

Unfortunately, after several emails and a phonecall,
That seems like overkill.
However, you can open an Item Not Received Dispute with either eBay or Paypal.
If the seller cannot prove delivery (not shipping, delivery) you will be refunded.
Then move on to another seller.
