The real advantage is that on eBaydotCA we can use Calculated Shipping while on dotCOM which is tied to the USPS postal system we can only estimate a Flat Shipping rate.
This can get expensive.

What the first respondent said is not true. When creating your listing, under Add Shipping Details, if you only fill in the Domestic Shipping section, your listing will only be seen on the .ca site. But if you also fill in the International Shipping section, your listing will be seen on:
1) the .com (US) site if you fill in a Ship to the United States section (click Choose Custom Location and then choose United States)
2) the rest of the world's sites if you click Add an Additional Service and then choose Worldwide.
