I tried printing an XPressPost label with PayPal and adding a Signature Confirmation, because my item is worth US$250. At that line, it says "Not Available"... I thought it was included with XPressPost? Do I need to go to the Post Office to get that option? Please help, I need to ship this today.... thanks!

Signature Confirmation with Xpresspost it not an option.
It's a given.
That is, if you ship that way a signature is required.

Hi!
I may be missing something but as I understand it:
Expresspost to USA has signature included.
Expresspost to Canada can have signature but you have to pay extra for it.

So... if I understand correctly what you both said, even if PayPal says that it is not available, it is in fact automatically included? And it means I am safe using PayPal shipping?
Edit: sorry, I forgot to mention that my package will go to USA.

Yes for the US.
I don't know about Canada or the rest of the world.

Thanks! I will print my label 🙂

This was my understanding too.
Although yesterday when I was looking at shipping an item to the U.S. with Xpresspost I couldn't see a line saying "signature confirmation included" (or similar wording). Perhaps that's what "not available" is supposed to mean, i.e. the option isn't available through Paypal because it's already included. A rather silly and confusing way of stating a positive feature...

Just checked on Canada Post website
For shipping within Canada
Signature is an option with
Xpresspost
Expedited Parcel
Regular Parcel
In contrast To the US
Signature is included as an option with Expresspost USA
but NOT available as an option with Expedited Parcel USA

I printed the label and there is a section in it for the recipient's signature, date and time.
However, what is even more confusing is the bottom half of the page with the instructions:
- Cut the label on the dotted line and retain the bottom half for tracking purposes.
- Attach a plastic envelope to the largest side of the box (do not bend it around sides or end of box). Place this label inside the plastic envelope.
- Complete a Customs Declaration Form CN23- place it behind this label in the envelope.
Huh? The label already has the mention "CN23" on it.... do I have to complete another kind of CN23? I just saw this when I came back from the Post Office. I hope I didn't screw up.... didn't place the label in a plastic envelope. I just taped it on the box....

I've never noticed that I was expected to include more paperwork........ and I just shipped something by Xpresspost as well.
I've never done it and I don't plan to start now..... :).
Also, when you ship Xpresspost to some countries you get two labels.
I used to toss one out and just learned that I was supposed to include both.

Well, if you've done it in the past without including any more paperwork and it went well, I guess it will for me too. 🙂
Maybe the label just included the addresses in the past and they forgot to change the instructions when they added the customs form declaration on the same page....

Yet the signature option didn't appear on the page on Paypal when I was doing an Xpresspost label a couple of days ago. I'm sure I looked thoroughly -- even clicked forward to the next screen -- and I didn't see it.
I wonder if Paypal, in fixing up some of their other messes with Tracked Packet, has somehow removed it accidentally from their screen for Xpresspost?
I'll do a check on Canada Post and see if I get the options that you've mentioned.
Also, re the issue concerning additional customs declaration forms commented on by another poster, perhaps this is another Paypal glitch that is fairly new. I never had that show up on Xpresspost to the US in the past, and I've used that service on quite a few occasions. In any case, since we have to enter the customs information when completing the label, I assume once is sufficient.
My guess is that Paypal still hasn't quite tidied up their interface with Canada Post.

The xpresspost screen has come up that same way ever since a signature was included with Xpresspost USA.

Keeping in mind that signature is only required in the highly unlikely remote tiny chance of a dispute. It is not a condition of selling or shipping.
I do agree that it is not a condition, but for my peace of mind, I had to have it. The item I sold is a One of A Kind, since it is a prop that was used in a TV show. I can't pay that price myself out of my pocket if the buyer (only 9 feedbacks so far) claims she didn't receive it - even if the claim is genuine. I also purchased insurance in case of damage because well, that is a one of kind item that cannot be replaced at all. Again, for my peace of mind 😉

"but for my peace of mind, I had to have it."
That's OK. Many part-time and casual sellers feel the same way. There is a price to pay for those who are risk adverse. It could be absorbing insurance costs or accepting a slightly lower level of sales activity if that peace of mind requires the buyer to pay for a more expensive shipping method.
Often those of us who have operated in the mail order business industry for decades forget that many eBay sellers are not full-time businesses. Our perception may be different.

Oh God, I fear some problems ahead regarding my shipment.... tracking EM004378393CA. I shipped Wednesday around noon. Package went to Montreal and is now back in Quebec city?? It hasn't left the country yet... and the service is supposed to be guaranteed in 3 business days....
It's been many months since a package *I* sent has been delivered to me instead of the real recipient (postal workers messed up without any reason some months ago - twice). I just hope this isn't the case!

On the U.S. boards as well as this one, there are full time sellers who prefer to have signature confirmation for items over $250 and I believe that lady stark's item was over that amount.. I don't think that is that unusual.

According to the Canada Post website, Xpresspost USA's delivery guarantee of 2-3 days is only between major centres, and I doubt that at around 300K inhabitants, Stockton counts as a major U.S. urban centre.
In addition, the tracking info says to expect delivery within two to nine business days.

Maybe... but why did it came back to Quebec city after leaving for Montreal? It should be "en route" to the US, not coming back where it was shipped.... I think I'll call Canada Post after my lunch. Maybe they will know more than what is written on their website.
