Sold items appearing in my Unsold Items list

I have a problem that has appeared since the My Ebay page has been redesigned. I now have items that I have sold appearing in my Unsold Items list. This means that I can no longer simply bring up "All" my unsold items and relist them all together because I may end up listing an item that has already been sold. I can see that if I choose to view the unsold items for a shorter time period instead, such as in the last 30 days, these items do not appear, but neither do all the other older unsold items that I want to relist. Is anyone else having this problem? Thanks.

Sold items appearing in my Unsold Items list

Hi. Thanks for responding. I'm not using the Seller Hub yet -- things are complicated enough already! By "redesigned" I mean this. There are now two drop-down boxes and a Search button at the top of the page that were not there before. For example, previously, if you wanted to see your unsold items for the last 30 days, you simply choose "last 30 days" from a drop-down list and they appeared. Now, you must select the status and the format from drop-down lists, and then click Search. (This is an annoying thing that developers do. In order to "simplify" processes for users, they add mandatory steps that add more work for the user. Something that we could do in one step now requires three steps.)

Ah, the eBay.COM beta -- I'm still seeing it the old way on eBay.CA (for the moment)

(...ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MyEbayBeta versus ...ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MyEbay)

With the new choices of "Not yet relisted", "Relisted" and "All" -- no surprise at all that you are seeing sold items when "Relisted" or "All" are selected.

Even under the old way, if you relisted by using sell similar you would run the risk of having the item sold and still hanging around in the unsold section.

What eBay needs to do is change the title for that section as "Unsold" while true, it is misleading. Each listing at one point was unsold (which is why it is in the section), but no check is made to see if it was sold at later point in time.

I'm not but others may be. This gets reported anecdotally from time to time on the Discussion  Boards and at the Weekly Chat with Ebay Canada staff.

Take notes, screenshots of the Unsold View with Sold items in it, and report it.

What do you mean by "My eBay page has been redesigned"?

Are you using the new eBay Seller Hub? The hub groups Ended Listings together and ended means Sold and UnSold. You have to be very careful to specifically click on Unsold listings and not Ended Listings. A few new users of the Seller Hub since it came out last fall got burned by this misunderstanding of the Seller Hub.

I'm just thinking this problem is another good reason to use Fixed Price/Good Til Cancelled listings.

Not only does your item hang around until it finds a buyer, but because it relists automatically every 30 days if it does not sell, you don't have to worry about accidentally listing a Sold item.

I admit I have a bee in my pretty floral bonnet about this.

Oh! So I'm on a BETA page. Thanks! The thought had crossed my mind, but I didn't see any kind of link on the page that you could click to go back to the previous version.  Would you (or anyone out there) happen to know how I can switch back?

Try http://my.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MyEbay  and see if that works.

Although selecting "Not yet relisted" on the beta gives me the same results as the old version for Unsold.

Ebay refuses to admit this problem exists. I have 2 out of stock defects due to this problem and Ebay could care less.

I used Turbo Lister and it still occurred.

There is a big difference between the reasons an item may have 'ended'. It might have sold, the listing may have merely expired, or it could have been manually ended by the seller due to it being unavailable. eBay developers should know better than to make this area tricky for sellers.

Just wanted to add that I've found another way to get out of BETA. Open a page in My Ebay. Delete the "ws/" from the url at the top of the page, hit Return, and the old version of the page will open for you.

I get Page Not Found.

You're right: that happened to me too, later in the day. I think that maybe it's because you need to do this:

Do it on ebay.ca, not ebay.com.

Go to the general "My Ebay" page first (by clicking My Ebay at the top of the page) and make the change to the url of that page.

After it's been changed, the other pages that you open when you choose them, such as Active items, Sold items, etc. will all be non-BETA pages as well. In other words, if you go to one of these pages without changing the My Ebay landing page first, they will be in BETA. I hope this works for you.
