Store items under US$1 ($C1.24) will not show on .COM

I listed bunch of store items on .CA and noticed a quarter of them were not showing on .COM. I found out the value of missing items came under USD 1.00. Since I currently list in CAD and cannot revise the currency (unless cancel all listings and relist), after a bulk update to a minimum of C$1.25 all the listings started showing on both .COM and .CA.

Yes, minimum price is 1 Yankee Greenback.

I actually liked the 95 or 99 cent listings as it's a psychological barrier but don't always expect sound marketing knowledge from the eBay decision makers.

Allowing $1 listings but not 99 cent ones likely cost eBay (and us sellers) revenue without achieving what they were trying to achieve.

Oh, well, now we just do the $1.95 thing and increase the merchandise content.

Bernie, I am finding out the buyers are more likely to buy the higher value listing as it makes the shipping cost more worth it.

People think like this: hmm, $1.20 + $2 shipping, that's $3.20. Why don't I buy 10pcs for $9.90 + $2 for shipping, one unit will cost me only $1.29 ... Comparing to $3.20 it's a deal. However, they do not realize that while they manage to use 3 units, rest of them will be expired. Seller made almost 10x the profit, buyer slightly overpaid (was able to use 3 out of 10).

I am trying to make bigger lots between $5-$9 but some of my items are 100pcs/$1.20, it's a compromise, I am one of the best games on eBay for someone who needs 1pc and also someone who needs 1kpc.

I agree with you but the nature of our offerings are such that it is a rare occasion that a buyer purchases only one item.

As we offer flat-fee shipping, they usually splurge 🙂
