These Canada Post eBay PowerSeller bags are cool...

Not quite sure what I'm going to do with them since they're not padded and I require padded mailers most of the time, but hey, they're cool. Maybe I'll put padded envelopes into the bags and mail them that way.

Also, I'm quite happy with the PowerSeller Canada Post discount...I think I ended up with a 20% cut off counter rates for within Canada which is superb.

Yay!

I hope it's the end! Lots of complaints here about what CP charge but no limit of greediness in ordering "free" bags to use for purposes they were not intended for.

I only use mine for shipping items. What the heck else would they be used for? A lot of mine came sliced open in the middle. They were useless and had to be thrown out. :(

Vesivus!Hello, zarzuella!!!

You noted earlier that you bought Bubblewrap at Home Depot. I went there to ask, and I was told they don't sell bubblewrap. Just for comparison shopping -- may I ask how much you pay for what size of roll? I would like to compare with the packaging companies I deal with...

Thank you!

John

Hola, Vesivus!!

Hi John,

I recently bought half a dozen rolls at $4.95 per roll (12" x 30 feet) at my local Home Depot. They carry a few packaging supplies, including boxes and packing tape. I guess not all stores are the same. I was in there last week and noticed that the price was up - now $5.95 per roll. Still cheaper than Staples.

I also use foam sheeting for packing, the cheapest I can find is from Noma and it is sold as underlay for fake wood flooring. Price $14.95 for a roll 4 feet x 50 feet. This works very well for packaging books, and works out to about .07cents per square foot. Bubblewrap is around .20 cents.

Anyone else getting better prices (without having to buy by the truckload) pleas post here!

Ann

Through a packaging company, I pay a little less than $80 for a 250' X 4' roll which is a savings of a little more than 50% from what you are paying ($0.08/ft instead of $0.1667/ft). I would guess that your dozen boxes isnt conserving much more space than my one roll.

A single 250' X 4' roll only weighs around 20lbs and is alot easier to carry than a dozen boxes so why would you want to pay so much buying a dozen individual 30' rolls when you can get almost 2 1/2 times as your are getting for an extra $20?

You can also have these larger rolls in 1', 2', 3' or 4' widths with an average cost of around $0.08/ft.

I am also certain that with some price shopping, you may even be able to get a better deal that what I am paying.

Because I hardly use bubblewrap; half a dozen rolls (not boxed, by the way) will last me 3 or 4 months. I'd love to find a better price on the foam sheeting I do use, though.
