These people are hilarious!

Had they asked sellers their opinion they could have saved themselves the grief. But no, some knucklehead in a glass tower that has probably never sold on eBay made decisions.

:^O....What were they thinking?

"We believe this change creates a better selling experience on eBay.ca in the short term."

In what way?....?:|

Why not let the "sellers" tell the customers what the estimated delivery time is rather than "big brother" doing it for us? What a unique idea!

One of the problems I have with them managing buyer expectations, and there are many mind you, but the one that keeps nagging at me is Christmas.

We ALL know that there are higher mail volumes at Christmas. Are these estimated dates going to take that into account? Will they change to acknowledge the increased delay?

And those of us that ship with USPS from the US what about Media Mail? Holy heck batman! I've been told by the guys at the counter that Media Mail over the Christmas rush sometimes doesn't get where it's going until sometime in January. Buyers are going to freak saying that eBay told them X number of days and I got it in Y!!! Neg for you! WTH!!

I was happy to hear that shipping times will be posted but I thought they were going to be more factual! Expedited shipping to USA is by surface and to quote 1-4 days is incorrect. I can see all the 1's we will be getting here.

10-20 days is totally unreasonable and I can see it turning purchasers away.

To say that this will improve our DSR rating is incorrect. We post shipping costs to each listing and yet we are receiving endless low marks. You would think that if a purchaser thought the shipping was high, they would not buy. I recently had a German lady give me seven 1's for shipping cost. We agreed on $50 for all 7 items with EMS, it cost me $68 and she still low balled me. You can imagine the affect it had on my account! All this makes me question: Why are purchasers asked to rate us on shipping costs when the amount is clearly stated and the purchaser has the option NOT TO BUY if they are not happy with it?

Since then, we've received seller feedback indicating that the addition of the new services created a more confusing selling experience on eBay.ca without providing significant added value and the adoption rate of these new services has been much lower than anticipated.

But they aren't creating confusion on .com? I wish they weren't going ahead with this on .com as well.

Christmas worries me too Jakee. There is no way that delivery times are the same in November than they are now.

Using "business days" as a term of reference will probably be confusing for some buyers as well. I used to quote my delivery time in business days but so many buyers would just ignore the word business that I started quoting the time in "days".
