US addresses just across border from Montreal?

I'm sorry if this has been asked everywhere -- I couldn't find it in a search. I have some items that I buy from the US that are in scarce supply in Canada. They're small but relatively expensive -- above $100.

The trouble is, many sellers don't sell to Canada at all, so that's that for me.

I have a US address -- my mom in California -- but she's 86 and way too old to be trotting to the list office with my packages. This is not to mention having to fill out customs forms and pay shipping -- again.

Are there any places near the Quebec boxer with Montreal that accept small packages and hold them for you to come physically pick up by car? I can see myself driving down every two weeks or so.

Note, I am NOT trying to smuggle things to the US. I'm merely trying to avoid exorbitant shipping prices (really outrageous, some of them) and any other hassles with customs.

Any idea, names, what these places are called so I can Google them? Thanks in advance!

I have had a private mail box in Detroit for over 20 years.

Do a Google search for UPS stores.

You could rent a box at a UPS store in a town in Northern NY such as Plattsburgh:

Read the fine print: Free state sales Tax

Just means no American taxes are paid on an order since this reshipper is located in a state with no sales tax.

They charge no tax on their services.  I felt for the one time fee of $5.00 it was worth trying. You are in control of the information on the package forwarded to you.  You can set the value of the shipment (I always ask seller not to include any paperwork/invoice), obviously this sets the rate for insurance coverage.  You can choose your method of shipping - from any USPS service (or courier).  You can insure or not.  It does take longer to receive the item as it goes there first, is cleared through LA, then Vancouver before heading to me in Ontario.  Never had a problem.
