I can't seem to get a shipping to for USA. Most likely due to oversize dimensions or weight but how can I get a quote on there without having to answer multiple shipping quote questions? Would be good if FEDEX, PUROLATOR or UPS could be selected just to get an idea of costs.
the auction is scheduled for OCT 1st
pls let me know what I can do
thanks

Ok, well I figured it out and rates are now working for both CDN and USA locations.
I tweaked the total dimensions (not the weight) and its happy now.
I guess being frustrated does not help when trying to figure things out.
a BIG THANK YOU to everyone for the help and support
Have a nice evening

Are you the buyer or the seller?

I am the seller

You can't get a shipping quote through ebay or on the Canada Post website?
Are you trying to use Canada Post Expedited USA? If so, your dimensions might be too small. The minimum size for that service is
21 x 14 x 0.5 CM. The minimum dimensions for expedited within Canada are 10cm x 7cm x 1 mm which makes it a bit confusing.

The auction you're referring to (272002121900) has no issues. its listed and canada post lists no issues with quotes for Canada or USA.
Its my other auction not yet listed (272002102568) and yes the dimensions are in metric sizes. The quote for Canada is ok but cannot get it for USA?
09-30-2015 03:28 PM
Actually I wasn't referring to any listing. Which Canada Post USA service are you trying to get a quote for and what dimensions are you using?
09-30-2015 04:08 PM
I tried them all none worked.
tell me which one I should be using for the following dimensions: 148x56x18cm , 21kg to be able to get a quote
09-30-2015 04:16 PM
148x56x18cm
That does not make sense.
148cm = five feet long! Is it really that long
09-30-2015 04:22 PM
LOL!!! man you've never seen a 5ft long box ?? I want to ship a keyboard...and YES ITS 5 FEET LONG.
Canada Post has no issues with that size, its when I want to get a quote to ship it to USA
Maybe I'm not making myself clear here??

ok mr.elmwood...
here is the question...
"tell me which one I should be using for the following dimensions: 148x56x18cm , 21kg
to be able to get a quote"

The max and minimum dimensions for shipping within Canada and to the U.S. are different and in this case, the total dimensions of your package are too big for expedited and xpresspost USA but it looks like you could use Priority Worldwide.
https://www.canadapost.ca/tools/pg/manual/PGpsus_int-e.asp#1393860
Max size for expedited and xpresspost & expedited - Length + Girth can't exceed 2.74m
Girth: | Distance around your item Girth = (width + height) x 2 |
56 + 18 x 2 = 148 cm girth
148 girth + 148 length = 2.96 m
Priority has a maximum of 3.0 m
Is it possible to make the package slightly smaller? If so, you would have more options.

I rarely use calculated shipping so didn't check on this before but you didn't need to pick a service to get a quote on ebay. You could have just clicked on calculate shipping next to 'services'; entered the weight and dimensions and clicked on U.S. quotes.
I wish I had known that before looking for the charts on the CP site but it looks as if the ebay info confirms the info that I gave you
If you go to the Fedex site you might find some cheaper rates however you can't use calculated shipping to the U.S. if you use Fedex.

Sorry guys, its a little frustrating...
But by selecting "Charge a fixed cost" I get all the extra services in the "service field"
if I choose
"Charge actual cost" where its calculated according to destination those other extra services like UPS, FEDEX don't appear in the field..
good god.. what the heck am I missing..

mr Elmwood, I'm on .ca
...and still no luck.
"You could have just clicked on calculate shipping next to 'services'; entered the weight and dimensions and clicked on U.S. quotes."
I looked for this like PJ suggested but its not there.. on the right side of the "services" field.
Also when I select "priority" it reports a problem and wants me to change it
I remember doing this in the past and I don't know what I did.
I will try it on .com and see what happens

ok so it does not work on .com because it expects a zip code to be entered in order to calculate the cost for the destination.
So, went back to .ca and clicked on the "calculate" link and this is what PJ was referring to, the shipping calculator
I entered the weight/size of the package,
selected "Show rates" for US sample rates,
then selected "Canada post priority worldwide"
hit "offer services"
then reports "the rates you selected have been applied successfully"
all seems good.
go back to the auction and still unable to get US rates
I'm closer(I guess) but I'm still lost..
