Wagglepop is Dead

The upstart store venue Wagglepop shut down for good today. The reasons given sounded like the operator couldn't handle the on-line communication he was getting: "I'm going back to the 'real world', where people look you in the eye when they speak to you, where "please" and "thank you" are heard, and where simple decent behavior and effort are appreciated, and rewarded."

I have a list of all the alternative venues now but creating a comparative checklist may prove impossibly cumbersome in the time I have remaining as a Power Seller. I believe that I may have found one that is superior to the others however. If you'd like to know which one it is then contact me at systemagic@mdi.ca. Diversity is always a good thing.

Why not try opening your own store with your own web space? Then you are not depending on anyone but yourself. I am in the process of opening an oscommerce store. It's not that hard to set up. If you have webspace and a domain you can usually set it up fairly easily. Should be ready in about a week or two.

I gave up my domain when it expired last August (Though my former server seems to have kept it up) I called it Heaven-now.net after I heard that the domain name "Hell.com" sold for a small fortune. I started wondering if you could build a virtual Heaven in cyberspace. I had a store-in-progress there. It needed a shopping cart. I think that I may have gotten maybe one or two sales from that site. One difficulty that I had with driving traffic to my web site was that many methods of doing so seemed to result in an overwhelming and unrelenting crush of spam. (I haven't had one piece of spam now since August) It seems like you really have to find someone who knows what they're doing to effectively drive traffic to your site without the onslaught of garbage. Traffic=Money. I don't have any plans at this time to open another on-line store. I don't have any difficulty with paying a venue for traffic - I just don't want to haemorrhage cash and expire doing so.

The boards at freeauctionscripts are lit on fire! Youve never seen so many angry people in one place. Let's be honest though, you could have seen this coming from a mile, or kilometre, down the road.
