What can eBay do to improve the lot of Canadian Powersellers...

Bill Cobb said today that:

1- the pace of changes would slow down;
2- the accent was going to be put on improving CS: access and tools;
3- eBay is taking a fresh look at feedback but a careful approach;
4- will work more on T & S not only fraud but listing violations;
5- enhanced search to include more store listings will start
- Feb 18, 2005
6- more needs to be done to reduce UPI problem
etc...

What else can be done to improve your lot?

Canadian presence and support.

Equal service to all no matter which side of the border we sit or reduce our fees accordingly. If necessary, shut down. ca and treat us all the same on .com.

Be fairer in fee hikes. If eBay's costs are going up related to the service then we can accept a fee hike for that service. If you are bringing more eBay buyers to the North American sites through visible marketing, we dont mind paying for that larger audience of potential buyers.

Fully test improvements BEFORE launching them. Downtime for us and other glitches can have a serious, detrimental affect on our business and in our communication with our customers.

Not enough is being done to shut down bad Buyers and Sellers and keep them from starting with new user id to harrass and cost us money and time. There is blatant and continuing misuse and abuse by many who are known to Powr Sellers who repeatedly report the bad members however little to nothing is done and certainly not in a timely manner.

I am certain I could list alot more but those are the ones that jumped out of my head right away.

Basically, I no longer enjoy eBay. I have lost the excitement and adventure that once was there as a result of poor or rather non-existent support from customer service, 2 years of irrational increases in fees, and continued abuse by people allowed to trade fraudulently on eBay with little done to curb their activities.

If they are going to shove Paypal down our throats, do something about the fraudulent buyers protection program.

They can start by LISTENING. Since they're not even interested in that, I'm going to stop typing at my second sentence.

Service is secondary to the total amount of eBay/PayPal fees. If their percentage is too high, and mine too low, then the whole thing is untenable. If both services and fees were rolled back to what they were a few years ago that would be wonderful.

I agree with rd1000 - buyer protection is the big thing now for fraudulent buyers, examples that occured to us.

1) Customer receives package with tracking number, picks it up at the post office with picture id, then calls up the credit card company and says he never authorized it,PayPal charges you back and adds $10.00 to the fee.

2) Customer received a brand new sealed PS2 slim then claims that they received an old PS2, calls up the credit card company and says he didn't receive what he bought,PayPal charges you back and adds $10.00 to the fee and then tells you to call up customer to return your merchandise.

3) And now with the new system of " item not as described " Customer received a brand new sealed PS2 slim then claims that the item is not as described and again calls up the credit card company and says the item is not as described,PayPal charges you back and adds $10.00 to the fee and then tells you to call up customer to return your merchandise.

How can we call the customer or fight with them for us to have our merchandise returned if PayPal doesn't give us any information on the buyers CC with out a court order, how silly is that. And all these are with new ebayers from 0 - 10 feedback and the problem will increase because they see that they are getting refunded and that the credit card companies have a lot of power. So now we will stop all together to accept credit cards because we can't take the chance of loosing any more money or having other new ebayers claiming and receiving merchandise for free.

So where is the seller protection???
