To Watch an item you got to the top of the Sellers Information on the Auction or Fixed Price/ BIN Page When selecting this This will allow you to easily access the item and keep track of what is going on with it IE Bids amounts of views if they use the counters etc It also helps one remember the Sellers ID and they can check on other items they offer that may have already been listed or listed after the item you are watching has been listed
The seller will see there are watchers but does not give them info as to who it is
One may not want to bid or purchase an item right away and a watched item allows you to think more You may decide later to buy bid or may just want to see what happens with it
As a Seller it allows one to see what the interest is It may or may not sell but it helps one know if there was more than just a general interest in the item (IE page views) and can help one decide if it's worth a relist later on
